      That is an MLS mandate. The Timbers would charge full price if they could.

        Yes but keep in mind the USDA division they play all of their teams in, not all are MLS clubs. In fact, only about a third are.

          This statement makes not sense. The Timbers would charge full price? First off Salt Lake charges a ton of money. The mandate is the Timbers have a program, that is it. The Timbers have a choice with the GDA and choose to make it very very affordable especially considering the actual cost.

              The RSL cost includes room, board, and tuition.

              If the Timbers charged the real cost of the program do you think any of the hispanic players would be on board with paying $15K per year.

              The Timbers could choose to not subsidize the GDA, but then you may only have 5 girls on each team. Timbers chose to subsidize to pull in players. Now they are realizing that this is expensive and trying to push the program to WST or EST.
