If the Thorns were the last team standing in the NWSL, they still would finish last :)
....think about it!

GDA is struggling too. Burlingame and PSV union are -423 goal differential with no end in sight. That’s a sad representation of the league.

Everything US Soccer touches dies. I give GDA 2 more years. Even if they allow high school the league will be so watered down by then. They should have worked with ECNL from the start.

NWSL Thorns are viable in Portland, attendance marks are insane. GDA is now firmly entrenched as the platform for the top female youth clubs/teams across the US. See the turnaround in our local clubs results(ECNL) magically they are now competitive and better than the other states club defacto GDA 'B' team squads . The bigger question is how long will Oregon parents fund travel at these local clubs knowing they are paying to play 'b' teams?, these same local clubs use to try and sell they myth of exposure or 'being seen' vs the best clubs in the (ECNL), now those 'best' clubs have moved to the GDA. Can't win at our local clubs, golly gee they are trying their best! Hoping to be some type of relevant, in the face of the exclusive selection bestowed to the timbers/thorn in the US Development Academy.
Chasing their tale and having to pay for it.
Brilliant.
Getting 'W's for daddy! comes at a steep price these days.
Oh well. It's about choices, right?

Women’s pro sports in America just don’t get the same attention as men, as unfair as that may be. It would be nice to see that change in the future.

I find it amusing how much bickering happens on this board about which league is better when at the end of the day no one cares except the crazy parents who lives their dreams through their kids. Not everyone can be a top "elite" player and not everyone will get to play on a top level team or make the USYNT. Find a situation that works for your kid. Support them and their team because it will go by faster than you realize and when it's over it's over.

NWSL just came out in support of Carter - won't split their votes, all in with MLS.
Going to be hard to spend another $ on the Thorns.

In the short-term this is what is best for MLS (NWSL on life-support so it may not matter one way or another who US Soccer pres is for it); long-term no es bueno for US game.
