    Clarkstown

Best U-little training in NY. Discuss.

Other than their 2007 team, who are currently the best players on their 06 team, please elaborate on this.

As a former Clarkstown parent, I disagree with this statement. Other than the one favored team, every other team is @**t on. Fields are always closed by the town, and only one team gets paid attention to. Left them after U9

So you're judging a club today based on an experience you had 10 years ago?

My only experience with Clarkstown was when one of my kids' teams (younger age) was in the same NCSA league (A flight) as a Clarkstown boys team.

The Clarkstown team was very inexperienced/weak.

Almost all the Clarkstown games were limited by the mercy rule (or very close to it).

I think whoever decided to have that team play in the A flight that season made a big mistake - that team should've been at least two flights lower or more.

Very good teams and excellent style of play, but unfortunately they lose players starting around U14 to bigger clubs in more prestigious leagues.

DS trains for intensity but very little technique. The 2007 team was a bonafide winner but they ran everything through 1 or 2 players at the expense of everyone else on the team. Very typical BOOT IT!, high press, high intensity, but little actual soccer. If they training anything, it is playing the ball out of the air.

I completely disagree. Every player on that team can dribble shoot and control the ball. They mostly play out of the back and what you call kick and run is actually high intensity direct playing. Just because they don't make 80 passes before reaching the other goal doesn't mean they kick and run. Go tell the German that the style they play is not good football and they can show you all the trophies. And to those who say it won't translate to the big field in the fall they beat the 06 PDA team that suposed to be good.

Don’t take it personally. The “they play kickball” mantra is uttered by thousands of soccer moms and dads who know nothing about the game. A person they respect uttered it one time on the sidelines against an awful team and they picked up the phrase. Now they use it without understand what it really means. That Clarkstown girls team is excellent.

That team relies on one player.

that isn't unique to clarkstown. most teams would go from good/excellent to average at best if you took away the best player. could say it about every WCFC team at every age group.
