Nah, the old Cosmo players are fleeing like a diaspora.

      That’s right NJ has:

      CSA Bergen
      CSA Monmouth
      PDA
      TSF

The Cosmos became a pay to play youth club in the fall of 2019. They are done!

the NY Cosmos were invited to join the MLS many many years ago. when they declined to stay in NASL they have been on life support since then. now its too late.

Doesn't matter as now there's no room for a 3rd in the area. They could never compete with the money NYCFC has.

I think they can compete with money, can’t keep up with the politics. Rocco is a billionaire

95 teams in the entire country. Yeah, travel distances won't be a problem, not.

It's only for U15, U17 and U19. Moreover, there are regions, so the travel wont be too bad for a vast majority of the teams. It's really the same as the old model except the MLS teams have, rightfully, formed a league to play each other and let the second tier play amongst themselves. I believe the initial concept was for the youth teams to travel with the first teams and play against their MLS academy team. Yes, certain parts of the country will be under represented, but consider it the House of Representatives and not the Senate.

Exactly, except the MLS teams dont have to play the inferior sides. I think it makes sense...the question is what happens for U13, 14, 16(? some rumor they may get included) and 18? Plus they kicked the GDA to the curb, which is a good thing for the brand and efficacy of the boys.

I dont know for certain, but why would it go away unless NYCFC no longer wants to subsidize it? The new league, as I previously wrote, is ONLY U15, U17 and U19. There are rumors U16 may also be included. It has no impact on the little guys.

                                Not U19
MLS not required to field that age
