Indeed indeed. Just got off the phone with their information specialist and they wanted to update our contact info. Putting the squeeze on us too. We never were a part of that club and are not really sure how they got our contact information.

No one is putting a gun to your head to have your kid tryout. ALL clubs try to get players from elsewhere, there's just varying degrees of how much they need to do it. Players aren't poachable if they're happy where they are.

Anyone think the thread OP is just another club nervous they might lose players? Hands up.

Easy enough for clubs to buy email lists or they compile their own from tryouts, inquiries, camps etc. I get plenty from clubs my kids have had no experience with at all. it's not "poaching" it's "marketing"

That's EXACTLY what this is. Players are scrambling because of this DA debacle and this new league seems really ill-thought-out and rushed. There's enough uncertainty with sports that no one wants to also be a guinea pig for this new league.
