Which teams are the ones to beat this year? Does anyone know which teams are rising to the top? It's difficult to find out since scores aren't posted.

Capital Timbers was solid and will be a strong force at this age group. Salmon Creek was as good as any team we saw this year too. Best athletes on the pitch and their new coach has them playing soccer. They are dangerous and could be the dark horse to win State Cup in the Spring. ADF and Westside are the class of the age group though.
The DA clubs have their top 08’s playing with their 07’s.

'08 Boys competitive?
Are there only a small handful of top tier '08 boys that are truly competitive around here?
ADF, Eugene, Salmon Creek...are there more?
Westside has 3 teams that are good, but none are great.
FC Portland does not have a competitive team at all.
What am I missing?

This age group has clubs like Salmon Creek that do not have places to stretch their top players so they have to play on age. Combine that with the league missing the best 08’s to older teams and the Portland Timbers DA this is what you get.
I personally know of 6 west side players, 4 vantucky players and two FCPDX players that are at the Timbers 07 DA

So 12 of the TA 2007 team is made up of 2008 players..... It has been said that the 2007 roster was kept under 20 players.

Westside also has some 09s playing with their 08s, for what it's worth. And I'm certain that's true at most of the larger clubs, which can field strong(ish) teams at most if not all age groups.
At any rate, U12 is way too early to be thinning the herd. You still got some kids who are developing their motor skills out there. You have some kids who are early bloomers who will stagnate, and some late bloomers who will rule at U14 but stink at U12. Few of them have gone through puberty. The switch to 11v11 next year will hurt some, help others. And some kids at this age group can't deal with the more aggressive coaches out there.

The 07 team is at 18 from my count at our friendly a month or so ago and the player group
Chat confirms this)
Only one kid on the team that isn’t an 07 (and everyone knows who he and his brother are)

Are you fricking out of your mind?
Run. Run away. You will regret being here in five years.
So many better things you can do with your time.
