If that's true why do so many Portland kids go to him for private training?

It takes more than 1 coach to implement curriculum changes.

First off...one person doesn't develop a player. It takes a group to develop a player.

If you have a child that is serious about soccer and plays at a club with only one or two quality coaches you are failing your child.

If you are at a club where one coach coaches a team for more than 3 consecutive years in a row (probably because the club doesn't have enough quality staff) then you are failing your child.

If your child plays for a club that does not train together in the same location so your child can have the opportunity to train with other teams in your club on a consistent basis...you are failing your child.

If your child plays for a club that does not own the correct sized equipment for the different ages that he/she plays then you're failing your child.

You just said that all but 1 or 2 clubs in Oregon are failures. And you're probably not wrong.

What club(s) train all their players at the same location year round?

                    really?
I'm the OP and didn't have them on my radar. I guess there are three.

Westside does also. Except they have 10-12 teams on one field.

WashT will train academy teams similar in age groups at the same time and days, all on 2 large turf fields. Many days practices end with scrimmages against older/younger squads, mixed squads, or group drills. It has been a great change in curriculum appreciated by many of us parents. Now if they could just fix the parking lot....ugh.

These clubs actually inter mix teams?

Our club practices at one location when the grass is useable but in the winter and spring teams are all spread out where ever they can find turf. And teams don't intermix at all.

My DD is on the top team at her club in the age bracket, so we really don't want the teams to mix. There is a possibility that some of the kids on the second team are better than kids on the first team and might replace them (not my DD of course because we do private training with the coach).

I meant the Timbers Alliance clubs. Their costs haven't gone up. Look at the Guidestar reports.

You sure about that? Two years ago top cost at WashT was $991. Now it's $1550.
