    It can be done and does happen, but rarely. Internships and travel abroad is tough with most D1 programs. Coaches tell you there's three parts to school - sports (all they care about), academics and a social life. One has to get cut, what will it be?

    Oh, and sleep gets cut too. Some teams practice at 5-6am before classes then again after classes, or have meetings until really late. It's good to ask coaches what the team schedule looks like. Just don't make a face when they tell you answers you don't like. Just nod and smile :)

            Happiest day ever when one of my kids quit hockey :)

            Anyway, mine has workouts at an ungodly hour as well. They're a morning person fortunately. But if you're so tired you can barely function you're not going to perform well
