- With the scholarship as stock options
- Players as independent contractors
- With no fans watching
- Nothing meaningful to play for

Commitments are often times deceptive. Uconn on the men’s side largely recruits foreign players. They backfill with locals because they already get cheap in state tuition. The better students get an even better deal.
The girls side has been non existent. A few kids to Patriot league schools but that’s a 15k discount on a 71k sticker. Great schools but not a value
If DA parents are in this chasing $$$, it won’t end well

My daughter just cashed in some of her stock options. Given to her as incentive for starting up a new division of her company and getting it launched successfully into their market (corporate cyber security).
Her takeaway was $3.5 million.
Far from worthless......

Were they options or RSUs? Big difference! Options can go way up or down while RSUs are predictable income
Ask her if she wants to buy some of GE stock options @ 0.25 in the dollar.

I think it's better to play in the Patriot and Ivy leagues then sit in the bigger DI conferences.

2018 Patriot League Midfielder of the Year
Mara Cosentino, Colgate, Jr., M, Glastonbury, Conn. /Glastonbury
*Cosentino added six goals to her stat sheet with four of them being game-winners.
*The junior was previously named the 2018 Patriot League Preseason Midfielder of the Year.
*Cosentino was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week twice this fall, and received honorable recognition once this season.
Prob better to go to a Big 10 school and sit though right?

Kid has had a great run there.
If you ulittle parents are chasing the the scholarship dollars it’s going to be a disappointing outcome. That’s all.

Anyway, for most soccer families - who can afford costly club soccer for YEEARS - it's more about getting into a better school than the $. Good thing, because like you said many are disappointed and the reality doesn't set in until their kids start to try and get recruited.
