Will Weston be able to field a GDA team this weekend? Do they have a Pre DA team to pull players from?

Weston will have kids do both and break the rules. No other option the pre DA kids all play high school.

Why play HS soccer? it's poor level. For the schools soccer is the last game in the list.

That's true, between a game of lacrosse and soccer the school makes more publicity to the lacrosse.

Why would you care? Its a stupid rule intended to create a soccer monopoly for US Soccer. Playing less does not help your kid, and your kid misses out by not being a part of their HS community. Instead of criticizing others, you should be working with them to get US Soccer to see common sense and actually support the sport instead of their wallets.

Gee I don't know, maybe because for many it's a lot of fun? They like playing with their friends, being part of their school community? If HS soccer was so terrible an experience you wouldn't have a single player trying to cheat. You'd also have every top player in DA, which there isn't. USSF has greatly underestimated the appeal of HS soccer, especially for girls.

Why play college soccer? If a kid is not playing for a school competing for a national championship that plays at high level what is the point to play college soccer at school nobody follows, in some cases nobody has heard of.

Plus, women soccer at the college level is not high on their list of sports. The games in the end don't mean anything, and again if you are not playing at one of the top 50 schools you are playing with inferior players.

                  From the Denver Post:

                  Ron Clark, Rocky Mountain coach

On the faults of the Development Academy system…

“What young player or parent is not going to be enticed by an offer to play for the D.A.? What 14-year-old is not going to be flattered by being told they’re Academy quality? We’ve seen it for years with the word ‘elite’ in ECNL — never mind that telling a kid she’s ‘elite’ at age 14 or 15 is about the worst thing you can do for their development as a player or a person. It’s only later, when it’s too late, that they realize that a foundational growth experience was taken away from them by a D.A. system that demands it.

So short term, I expect CHSAA programs to keep losing talented players. Long term, I think (hope) that people will start to see that the pay-to-play machine is killing soccer in America, and that thousands and thousands of dollars later, the D.A. isn’t really delivering on its promises to the vast majority of kids and parents. The D.A. is getting the best players, but it’s leaving a whole lot of kids along the side of the road, because the D.A. is really just interested in what’s good for it, not the players it depends on.

But in the end, I guess DA can do whatever it wants to do. It’s up to players and parents to make the right choice.”

On the overlooked merits of high school soccer…

“I really want players and parents to go into this decision with their eyes wide open. I want them to know that high school soccer and the D.A. have fundamentally different objectives — the D.A. wants to grab the very best talent for its national teams, a short-term end in itself, while high school programs want to use the sport as a vehicle to develop well-rounded, educated people who contribute positively to their communities for the rest of their lives. I want them to know that the high school soccer experience provides personal growth and preparation that clubs and D.A. can’t offer, and it deserves at the very least a place at the table.”

Again, what business of it is yours? Why should you care if someone else wants their kid to both be on a D.A. team and play high school ball? If you want to follow stupid rules made to benefit a for profit corporation that has basically said, "You have to join our overpriced youth league or you can never play for your country" go ahead. Otherwise, shut your mouth. Not everyone has to fall into the money trap set up by USSF.
