All of these college bound players should be playing in ISL. The DA is supposed to be for kids with higher soccer aspirations than college ball. The problem with creating a league like the DA, is that there aren't enough kids who actually want to forgo college to make enough teams in order to have weekly league games with reasonable travel, so the ranks are filled with college bound kids.

DA needs to dissolve, send all the college bound kids back to ISL and high school, which will strengthen those programs. USSF can use the money to set up 5-6 residential academies around the country for the kids serious about making a living from soccer, which will form a nice pool for YNT & NT choices. Obviously, these residential academies will not be able to play each other in a weekend league set-up, but could have a couple showcases each year to bring the teams together to compete.

The key will be that somebody with some creativity and who knows the soccer landscape well in each region will need to set up a schedule of weekly games against high quality competition. This might be local private school/high school teams or older club teams for the younger residential players, and for the older residential players, high quality college teams, amateur teams, USL teams (I think there are three levels in USL now), some international games, etc. There is plenty of competition out there to help develop players without the need for a structured league, in which often times half the opponents don't offer quality competition.

Bolts U19's are committed to college programs and cannot risk injury. Revs U19's on the other hand, are trying to land college spots as walk on's and parents scrambling to explain their son's drug use. Hence the Revs are have a fuller squad. Truth.

Bolts are managing the New England soccer/school component the way it should be. We're not in California or Texas where Mexican- Americans look at the sport as a way out of poverty. They hope to land on MLS academies for a way into a pro career in MLS or La Liga MX. Revs are either incredibly stupid or arrogant, I'd say a strong combination of both which is why they are lagging behind the rest of the league. New England is a unique landscape where education is strongly valued and prep schools play a major role.

The latest homegrown signings are a ruse. Firmino is not pro material and never will be. Angking is a train wreck waiting to happen.

That is the way to go. Boston Bolts are a lot more progressive and forward thinking than Bryan Scales. He dates himself back to the mid- 2000's.

Wait until the 2019-20 season. The Revs won't win a game against the Bolts at U17 or U19. Those Revs teams will be a shambles during prime recruiting years for the players.

                      Maybe that's why he didn't make All-NEPSAC - sorry MB's Dad ....

Most are going D3 if that. Shows the quality of the ISL. either the coaches have no clue how to select the best players or there just isn’t much quality in this league. Sorry the truth hurts.

D3 super high end education and playing time vs. blah D1 academics and splinters in the arse from the bench? Tough choice.

Serious question (not trolling)... what D3 schools are these kids going to?

Those two going D1 will spend a lot of time of time on the bench.
