We don't know what the Oregon ECNL teams would have done. What we DO know is that the Thorns Academy underwhelmed everybody once again. If it's not 4th place in FWRL, it's 2nd place in OYSA Rec+, or it's 3rd in bracket in Denver. No matter how you slice it, it's been an horrendous year for the Thorns Academy. And now they can look forward to a hand full of rec kids coming out to their tryouts in the summer.

Only because the Thorns didn't win anything all year and so weren't invited to travel anywhere. What happened to all the BS selling that went on last summer; gonna do Surf, gonna do FW Regionals, gonna do top Showcases. Absolutely NONE of it was delivered by the Thorns Academy and their "professional environment" and "world class coaching".

Totally agree. 3rd out of 4 in this tournament, 4th out of 6 in the FWRL and 2nd in the watered-down OYSA Winter league is SOLID dominance.
