Good education and prestige for job and grad school application, but mediocre soccer. Please don't try to blow smoke up anyone's ass that the Ivy leagues have great soccer teams. They don't. Kids who go to the Ivy League schools do so for the education.
That said I would not let my kid turn down an Ivy or Ivy-like opportunity (many out there in all divisions) because he made soccer the priority.
That said, one has to self evaluate their own academic potential. To struggle and fail at the highest level may not worth the time, money, and emotional turmoil. Reach schools are great, and using sports to get their is appropriate, as long as your kid has the confidence and potential to succeed in the classroom.
