Yes, yes it is a waste land. All the leagues & tournaments are terrible. Unless you want a place for your kid or team to play soccer. They are all actually good for that.

Two of the final 8 state cup teams in 04s are there. Should be a good gauge if us club/fpl/npl and all the others you deem garbage can compete

Yes, FYSA state cup is more prestigious since it has been around much longer. Florida cup is still building and I have to say, in a few years it might take the place of FYSA state cup. Why?

Florida cup:
- Less travel
- Less expensive
- home team decided by league play
- coaches decide on playing date in certain time window
- fields are overall way better. No Hialeah, Melbourne or plantation
- 250 to enter.
- home team pays ref fees, so if you have to travel, you have no referee fees.
- No hotel cost since you coaches decide what time to play. You can do it in 1 day.

FYSA state cup:
- good competition
- expensive
-ref fees for both teams
- mediocre fields in early rounds
- expensive hotel rooms $125 -250 depending on location.
- Saturday 8am games for teams who have to drive after school on Friday for 4-6 hours because of Miami rounds.
- great fields final 4.

Our team plays both. FYSA state cup better competition, Florida cup more enjoyable, decent competition in our age grp.

Don't play on a team that plays Florida cup than. Your choice.

- 250 to enter, then get bounce after first game, pretty expensive if you ask me!!!!

Fortunately it is not mandatory to play in the tournament. Teams worried about getting bounced in first game can elect not to sign their team up, and play someplace else (if they can find something they do like) instead. Another of the great things about America.

Also two ECNL teams at 2004. According to the TS theory that ECNL is leaps and bounds better I guess the others don't stand a chance! We'll soon see......
