If you're not a consistent starter on a top non MLS team, or better on an MLS team, then the DA path doesn't necessarily lead to college glory (few really think their kid will go pro). It's a great deal of sacrifice (time, cost, giving up HS) for what you may still get playing in ECNL. I also think if the MLS clubs pull out DA next year, as is rumored, even more will move to ECNL. Without MLS clubs then DA is more like ECNL
For now, LETS GO DA, we are the best.

Problem is you’re trying to justify boys ecnl by bashing DA. in general colleges do not care for men’s soccer as much as the girls . Already has been said most spots are taken by foreign players.

Boys ECNL is trying to do what people have said is needed - they have events in different parts of the country so teams can chose. PA, FL, OK and CA and then one national event in IL, almost right in the middle of the country. Yes Boys ECNL isn't nearly the strength of BDA. It will always be a B team league. But for many players that level is appropriate. I think the league will be fine.
