Seacoast Boys NPL teams moving to MA???

Was told that Seacoast will operate their boys NPL teams exclusively in North Shore/Northern MA, can anyone confirm?

Wondering if NH players will now have to commute? or will players be selected from the MA area?

I had heard last year that NPL teams would be based out of North Shore for the '18/'19 season, but it didn't happen. Haven't heard any recent rumblings, though. Would be tough for players coming from Manchester/Concord areas.

They're putting the hard sell on their current NPL players to go DA. I think the plan is to then make NPL their top team from the MA locations and top NH teams DA. Will be interesting to see what happens to the current NH NPL players that have said they do not want DA.

Surely this will have an impact on the current boys landscape in MA? For example the “regions” for the mega clubs who can’t play D.A/ECNL/NPL or clubs like the Aztecs who are notoriously poor NPL teams. Won’t this be an new opportunity for players to be able to tryout/compete for an NPL spot in MA who otherwise would rather not travel to NH?

Interesting if true, unless the OP was a Dad stirring the pot because his kid didn’t make the DA or NPL team?

Not the OP but I think it's true. Seacoast announced a re-org in Mass and in their new brochure they have NPL coordinators on the Mass staff, not out of NH.

Fact is there isn't enough talent in the NH area to support a DA and NPL team at each age. Makes sense to move NPL to MA and tap into a new market. Won't be surprised if they do it for both girls and boys.

Wouldn't be surprised if this happens eventually as well. Not sure when, or how "all-in" they want to move to Amesbury, but I do see more and more activity coming out of there.

They are pretty invested in Epping, but as they want to move away from being a Regional club into a "destination" club, capturing the North Shore players should be part of their long-term goal. Utilizing Amesbury would be beneficial for that purpose.

It won't happen overnight, but they are thin trying to be competitive in both the DA and NPL arenas so if they can be the club-of-choice for everything North and East of I93, that would be their ultimate goal I assume.

The NS guys they picked up have ugly reputations. Hurt Aztec a lot. The place is much better without them which doesn't speak well for them. They need to do better if they want to attract kids.

Yes, and on the boys side, most of the talent that just misses out on, or is cut from, the DA will more likely move to a club whose top level is NPL (GPS NH, ME, & MA all draw some of these players and have strong boys NPL teams). Better for Seacoast to move the program to an area with a current NPL void and try to draw kids from further south.

This is the most puzzling part. Last spring, the Aztec boys NPL teams did abysmally, dead last in almost every age group. The girls NPL teams were also bottom 2 or 3, except for one team. While scores and standings aren't everything, it seems strange that Seacoast would grab these particular former Aztec coaches to try and renew their NPL program. Who knows, maybe they will thrive under different management, let's hope so.

Explain? How is this possible mid-season?

                            "Depends"

Before we switched clubs, my daughter started training with her new club. We stayed true to her current club, attending all practices and games and were fully committed. However, we sometimes ran from training-to-training or took in a session on an off-day with the new club.

Once the season ended, we committed to the new club full-time. I've known that to happen with several people over the years.

No idea if this is the case here, but could be the case.

Agree, and if they play out of Amesbury they will keep those NPL players they currently have that don't want DA. It's not too far for many.
