This barrage of unsolicited Barca posts by insecure unemployed dads with too much time on hands is getting silly. No-one considering FCW like the original poster is sanely driving 2 hours for a team with no fields and no pathway to DA. Yes Barca is a very good club but about 8 other clubs in tri state area closer to Westchester are as good or better. To the original poster - FCW is a fine club with some superbly talented kids and some great coaches, same as the other DA affiliate teams.

It had started to really improve but then key personnel left and it's been kind of middle of the road for awhile. There certainly are a few other solid, not great, other clubs nearby as well. Ask to have your player attend some practices at different clubs now (not later for "tryouts") and see what seems to be the best fit for them

Just stay away from the bogus "Pre-Academy" teams. Very poor and they rarely, if ever, give kids a shot to play on DA.
$3500 a year to play in an EDP Third Division against teams in Binghamton, Syracuse and Albany for the '05s as an example.
They are slowly but surely losing the battle to NYSC.
