It's the newbie parents at every club. It's not the age group. Anybody who's had a kid go through the ringer before knows what the journey is like. Ups, downs. Hardly ever goes the way you thought. You gain a little wisdom - at least enough to know yelling at your 12 year old kid or the ref is nuts. But the parents just starting out on the journey, they all are over invested in the process. They can't help themselves.

Any Girl team parent for any club are the craziest. Watching both boys and girls, parents and their D are the craziest. Hands Down!!

Girls parents are definitely worse, particularly a winning U11 or U12 team. The parents think their little Samantha's will all be getting D1 scholarships so they take it way too seriously. By 8th grade half aren't even playing any more and a new reality sets in with the rest

FSA Parent here. this is false. Loud yes, shout yes, some parents to involved emotionally yes and some even shout at the ref from time to time just like most other ulittles team in CT but shout abuse at our own players, I don’t think so. Someone is clearly unhappy here.

not with ow, but I've seen it happen plenty of times (even in freaking travel) and in other sports as well. You totally feel for the kids and hope that there's nothing worse going on at home. But short of calling DCFS what are people supposed to do? You can't change that type of person's behavior. Publicly shaming them does nothing more than enrage them more. The only thing others can do is support the child as much as possible so they know there are people who care and whom they can rely on.

the point is you said "parents". You generalized all the OW parents because you saw one parent talking down to his daughter. The other poster said he heard a Sporting parent yelling at the ref so therefore all the Sporting parents do. You just didn't get his point. Every club has that over the top parent who air punches when his little Mia misses a shot and then comes down on them after the game. Not to mention the poor kid's car ride home. Coaches and clubs can lecture the parents all they want. But that car ride home is unsupervised and you just know those crazy nut parents are lecturing their kid the whole way home.

How about the dad in the Orange CFC sweatshirt U11Girls City who yells plays the entire game at his kid and all the other kids. Please CFC let him coach its so funny to watch 99% of the time its wrong but so fun to watch him.
