Interesting thought.
Here is what should happen if that were true:
Merge WSM and THUSC (they share the same fields)
Dump Atencio
Let John Bain run the new club
Strong boys side
Strong girls side
But it makes far too much sense for any of the egos to allow this to happen.

Atencio has done very impressive work with the club in fairly short order. You may not like his style, but how can you argue with his results? The guy has a vision too.
Bain is fine, too. But don't take what THUSC has accomplished for granted.

Sounds like WUSC is opening up the pocketbook again. They did it for Jim and now they are going after Cony.

Well maybe WSM should ask why there 11 and 12 years olds are throwing the "F" Bomb on the soccer field. Maybe the apple does not fall far from the tree! If that is what WUSC wants in a club than they should go for it!

That's a parenting issue (lack there of if true.) The coach at these big clubs are to train soccer players not ethics and good character. Case in point - after a hard foul coach sneaks the offending player off the field so he isn't given a red card while the ref is distracted with another issue on the field. (saw it this weekend - though classless I wasn't surprised..)

Merge
Merging WSM & thusc makes a lot of sense, especially if the kids are the priority. Like Bain a lot and don't know Atencio well enough to provide an opinion.
Cheers.

Has that been shared with the parents?

Our job as developing ethics and good character through soccer. The only reason these would be exclusive is if you can only win dishonestly. I suspect most parents would be disturbed that their coach would try to win by cheating. I am not so naive to say it doesn't happen, but what lessons are we teaching our kids?
