College Attendance for 2018 Jef Cup is ugly

OK, what is going on with attendance of Jef Cup. Im looking at the registered coaches and I kinda understand "0" Pac 10 that is west coast, Acc country and less than 1/2 attending, 3 out of 12 from big 10, 2 Sec attending, "0" big 12, American has 4 attending. What a waste of money and time!

If you want a power 5 conference then you need to play DA or ECNL. Mid major D1 and below jeff cup works but these schools don’t spend much money on players outside the 2 big leagues

Let me understand this correctly, you don't want to waste your money but you dont have a problem with the better schools wasting theirs. LMAO

OK, just thinking about these numbers, their are about 60+ of the better schools passing on this event. How are the other non GDA and ECNL events doing? YIKES!

Those parents get everything they deserve for purposely allowing themselves to be led down the wrong pathby people not caring about anything but keeping there club alive.

We are thrilled. Theres several ivy league schools there. Were putting a great education over winning a d1 championship. Maybe your kid should study more.

At these things many coaches don't register until just before or never at all. It isn't as big as an ECNL event but is one of the top nonECNL or non GDA events. If you're not in the top two leagues you want to be at this event

While you are 100% correct, this thread was probably started by a ECNL or DA parent wanting to make a point. Jefferson Cup is the one non-ECNL/DA East Cost Regional Tournament that most of the schools will attend and is worth the money to compete in. More so than CASL and certainly more so than Disney.

Yes both leagues have incentives to make any other leagues look irrelevant. NPL/other is less relevant than before but this is still a top event and even has some ECNL teams participating. If you want to get recruited you need exposure, even more so if you don't have a special patch on your uniform. This is one you want to be in.

Agreed. My daughter plays ECNL and her team is not doing Jeff Cup but some of the coaches of quality D1 programs that are interested in her reached out to her to see if she was going to be at Jeff Cup. And previous poster is correct - don't go by the "registered" coaches list. In our experience, many, many Head Coaches don't register but they do attend. Many of the Assistant Coaches do register (some are looking for their next coaching job and want a higher profile).

Of course coaches register and some don't. They don't pick and choose which ones they register for. The ones that register will be there. The ones that don't register may or may not be there. Does that make sense? Same difference stupid. The event I attended weeks ago had top colleges register and top colleges didn't register and they were their. That's how this works. That's because they may or may not go that's why they did not register. But whatever makes you feel better.
