    New Board - Same Issues

From their FB page. Not sure who Adam Carroll and Karen Wright are, but butch will shake things up! They need it.

    ——-

We’d like to send out a quick update on the OYSA Board make up and recent changes after our Annual General Meeting.
First, we lost some fantastic Board Members who we would be remiss not to thank for their service. Fergus Loughran (Western District rep) made the decision to step down so he could concentrate on multiple other Boards he belongs to in the Astoria area. With the recent passing of our Jimmy Conway Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Jerry Boisvert, Fergus will have his work cut out in filling those enormous shoes, and helping to steer the LCYSA club through this tough time.
Derrick de Groot wrapped up many years on the Board this past month, after serving the Southern District with distinction. Derrick’s advocacy for the Medford/Ashland/Klamath Falls area was fantastic, especially considering the logistical challenges it poses that far from the Portland office. He will be missed.
Keith Blackerby stepped away as our Secretary/Treasurer this year also. We want to thank Keith for his many, many years of service on the Board in this critical position.
We also had some existing Board Members transition to new positions. Susan McCarty moved from the Willamette District rep to the Director at Large #2 position, which was vacated by John Thomas who took over from Keith as the new Secretary/Treasurer.
We’re also incredibly excited to announce two new members on our Board. Adam Carroll will be representing the Central and Eastern parts of the state, residing in the Bend area. Finally, Karen Wright is the new Western District rep (replacing Fergus) as she looks to bring some of the success she’s had at Yamhill Carlton to the state board level. Please help us in welcoming Adam and Karen!
Lastly, a reminder! Currently we have FOUR Board positions that sit vacant. While still completely operational at the state level, there are districts that do not have any specific representation on the OYSA Board. Your voices are not being heard. The South Metro District, Portland District, Southern District, and Willamette District do not have a board member speaking for them at our monthly meetings. If you are not sure which district you are in, click the names above to see. We need you! Which club you are at doesn’t matter, nor your tenure within OYSA. We have a few simple steps to get you approved and that’s it. Meetings are monthly on Monday nights, here in Beaverton. We also have a call-in option for those further out. Come and be a part of shaping the future of Oregon soccer in the coming years. If you’re interested in joining, or getting more information, please reply to this email. Your club needs a voice!
    Thanks everyone!

Butch is quality but from an alliance club. Don’t know the other two, but until you cut the head off the snake nothing will change. Leaders are what that Association needs. They have none.

What are you talking about? SB and RC do what the head of the snake tells them to. All hail, GW.

Baker was rough first time round. So arrogant. Clouter was the admin and then became the CEO. Think about that for a second. It’s not their fault they can’t run it well. They don’t have a plan other than collect fees and approve as many clubs as they can. Even if they are in our territory. Follow the money!

          OYSA is fine

There is nothing wrong with OYSA. OYSA sanctions leagues, does not run them.

They have to do that. I’m pretty sure it’s required. For a fee I’m sure. But then where does that money go? DA anyone?

OYSA recently advertised nationally for a Technical Director. They hired a local guy who the Timbers can control. OYSA have no say in the matter. I hope the new TD can bring in their own ideas without pushing them past GW? Probably not.
