If you take the top 10 kids from st joes and put them in staples, they wouldn’t even be in top 50 percentile at staples.

Gatorade website says June 2019 for soccer and no mention of this player. Maybe she was the states All American not gatorades

This is fake news, UCONN should be ashamed of lying in press. JM is not Gatorade national player of the year. That award is announced in June. She is probably the CT Gatorade Player of the year, but not National. Also, UCONN article does not reference Gatorade so I'm assuming it is United Coaches National player of the year award that is announced in Chicago in January. Maybe JN already knows, but please provide link to article/release.

UConn is so thirsty for some news. If they did jump the gun....whoa........not a good look for the head coach and the school

Check the girls soccer list. None of the players UConn mentioned are national player of the year. Hmmmmm. UConn must have hired Sarah hukabee sanders

Perhaps, but that doesn’t make it real either. The girls hs soccer state awards are announced in the spring. However, the fall soccer playing states do choose the state winners in the fall, but they are announced in the spring when the states that play in the spring season are completed. In order to get the national player of the year, you have to be a state winner. One would think, that you would at least have to play out the spring season to choose a national winner. However, it could just be a farce and the award winner is more of a lifetime achievement award and is decided before play on the field is completed. If so, I would have less respect for the award.

And sorry, but outside UCONN soccer no one really cares about this news - which isn't really news yet is it? Very unprofessional. I don't expect News 12 to know the difference, they're not exactly know for investigative journalism. They'll take whatever stories they can to fill time. Someone fed them that story incorrectly.
