    Ok so got it.

"Thorns definitely didn't allow girls to play high school."
(Actually, written evidence shows they did.)
"Pro clubs always recruit high talent"
(Yes, a girl who finished second team all league while playing for a 4A school is definitely "high talent")
"Thorns is a pro club that subsidizes everything for players."
(Actually, it costs $4000/year plus food - comparable to most club teams)

    Next excuse?

Thorns is only $3,000.00 per year or so and there’s no pressure to win so some parents might bring their kid for fun times.

A US Soccer Pro DA can do whatever they want, HS programs have no say in what the DA players do. Sorry you didn't know this fact.

Most local neighborhood clubs including CU and FC feature many JV and JV 2 players. The Portland MLS and NWSL DA's are subsidizing their selections covering thousand in costs. Strangely none of the non-profit local clubs invest any money into the kiddos who they demand must travel, it's ironic yet predictable. Which is shameful since they are a non profit mission based entity. (501c3)

Our lane costs much more and it's our money! How come you get the fast lane to the National Teams? Not fair!!!

Your statements are so far out in the outer limits of pure imagination, it's actually comical.

HS Soccer is played in the fall in Oregon and Division 1 coaches aint making any trips to watch these recreational rodeo shows. Sorry. Get help or better yet get educated.
If you were told to skip the State Club league and prioritize HS recreational soccer you would also want to convince yourself that OSAA soccer is where dem coaches hang and recruit. Wai, t I thought they were in rained out NJ or snowed in TX. Nope their right here at local HS games. That's the latest narrative. Please share more of your stories, it's awesome.

Because we train in a professional academy setting year round, rather than taking three months off to play rec bootball. That's why.

                    Thorns now allowing high school?

                    Not good teams?

                    Expensive?

                    Short bus in slow lane?

You should educate yourself on what 501c3 means. Ignorant posts are ignorant.

For sure! Those 0-15 records and getting shellacked every game must be impressive to someone...

Nobody said the thorns were better than any other option. It’s mean to point out the quality issues.

U14 Thorns are 5-1-3 (W/D/L), none of their losses has been a shellacking, though they've delivered a couple.

                              U15 Thorns are 3-2-4.

U16 Thorns are really bad, and have no wins (and only one tie). U17 is slightly better, with one win and two ties.

                              U19 Thorns are a respectable 4-1-4.

Other than the U16 team, the notion that they are "getting shellacked every game" is a flat-out lie.

And the amusing thing here is that the local ECNL honks seem to be cheering for GDA to fail--apparently they think that if US Soccer ends the GDA program, that the Thorns Academy will go away (or go back to playing in OYSA). More likely is that the Thorns will simply move to ECNL--Peregrine doesn't really care about the US Club/US Soccer war, and US Club has gladly shown that they will accept any ex-GDA club that wants to join. The main advantage the ECNL clubs have in recruitment--an ability to play high school--would vanish, and CU won't be able to rack up impressive records against the school of minnows that have made up the NW division the past two years. (I expect there to be a preview of how this will look THIS season as Crossfire Premier moves its A teams back into ECNL and dominates the league).

Be careful what you wish for...

Before you say they didn't play HS, here's a link indicating Votava made second team all league: http://www.metroleague.org/all-leagu...Year=2019-2020

Also here is the Max Preps link you wanted: https://www.maxpreps.com/high-school...cer/roster.htm

U17 roster - Burns (Southridge) added to roster after finishing her HS season.

Here's the Max preps link you were asking for: https://www.maxpreps.com/high-school...cer/roster.htm

U16 roster - Deline (Corbett) added to roster after finishing her HS season, and played in academy game last Saturday.

Before you say she didn't play HS, here's the link listing her as making second team all league: https://www.oregonlive.com/sports/g6...-the-year.html

U15 and U14 roster - none added. Coincidence that most girls in these age groups aren't in HS yet? Probably not.

I personally don't have a dog in the never ending Thorns versus CU debate that rages on here. But when you post such easily debunkable lies, it's hard to ignore. The facts are clear: Thorns did not get the quality of players they wanted at their May tryouts. Because of that, they allowed not only seniors from private schools to play HS soccer, but hosted supplemental tryouts for the first time in their history, to attempt to improve their rosters. Had they been happy with what they got in May, they would not have had open tryouts like they did a few weeks ago. One can always try to join a club team (even the Thorns) after tryouts. If you're good enough, they'll take you. But hosting a full club supplemental tryout showed that they were concerned about teams being competitive. This is a fact and your attempts to spin and mislead are pretty sad.
The supplemental tryouts didn't work for the levels that are below U18/19.
