[QUOTE=Unregistered;2416778]There are many clubs that will be left in the cold also if it does go away. Families are screwed, clubs are screwed, soccer isn't improving. Job well done

NYCFC players will go back to world class. There will be a lot of players looking for teams to play for.

FWIW, people should explicitly say if they're talking about BDA or GDA when referencing Academy stuff.

NYCFC is leaving DA? Are all MLS clubs leaving?

NYCFC is leaving the girls da. It is a waste of time and money for everyone involved. Albertson has 2 teams in and they were the last place finisher in the ECNL. LISC isn’t even a club. Too many wasted games

NYCFC possibly leaving is a different issue than boys. Girls is lack of desire/benefit for the club to be in girls soccer at all plus NE GDA being so weak. Boys MLS clubs are putting on pressure to separate from BDA. But that's driven by their desire to have more control and to stop playing poor quality teams. That's an overall league issue.

My daughter plays for NYCFC, and you are an idiot. There is more desire and bebenfit to play for Kaz and any other coach around our area. Even ONeill at PDA is not as qualified as Kaz. Think before you write dickbreath...

                    Thanks NYCFC dad.

It's not about what the players want but what the club wants. They don't want to be in girls soccer.

Well why did they want to be in last year then. They yank these players around for one year are two and then bail? Better to never have started it if they were out after such a short time. So so disruptive to so many players.

Yes but this disaster belongs to nycfc. They should not have done that.

Can't entirely blame the club - USSF bears a good deal of the responsibility as well. They over promised, they created a league that's too big and have too many poor quality clubs in it. Adding Seacoast and Alby? Come on. With BDA clubs looking to split off from DA as well it's no wonder the club has said "why are we doing this?" Pro clubs don't want to be in the business of youth sports. The want to develop pro MALE players.

It totally sucks. But blame the leagues for the constant upheaval more so than the clubs. The clubs are also trying to figure out what to do next. They're not fortune tellers that can read what changes will happen next year. That said, when several very good clubs left GDA last year to go back to ECNL it was not a good sign at all.
