GPS is the deeper team? Yes, deeper pockets to fork over $15 k per year. GPS plays so many crappy teams in state and out, hard to determine quality. GPS besting CU 03 is pure fantasy.
I'm taking Tiki Taka over the Big Boot. 2-1. Both head coaches get ejected.
Actually, PacNW's tournament is quite well regarded, and attracts a fair bit of talent and college scouts. It is regional in nature rather than national, but it's one of the more important tourneys in the Pacific Northwest.
Of course, the local ECNL honks continue to insist that the only tournaments that matter anymore (for girls) are their own showcases; but given that most of the quality teams (USYS teams as well as GDA teams) are excluded, by definition ECNL events are limited in scope. ECNL boosters will try and insist that ECNL clubs are all you need (the rest being rec, yadda yadda), but those who aren't fooled by a smooth-talking coach's recruiting pitch know better. (ECNL showcases are often worthwhile tournaments to attend, of course, but there's a lot of talent that prefers not to play in an overpriced travel league, and thus aren't to be found at these events).

Fair enough, but worth noting PacNW now participates in ECNL (and boys DA at younger ages, at least for now).
It is great any time D1 coaches are attending a tourney in the NW! The oysa players also get seen at Vegas, Surf, Silverlakes, etc. It’s extra nice to get seen by D1 coaches playing against other northwest girls instead of against CA or Texas girls. Lots of good showings this weekend. Several OSU, UO, UoP players have all been recruited from oysa teams already. Wish there were more tourneys like this in the NW!
