Effective immediately: Crossfire Oregon will become the Oregon Premier Football Club. We want to publicly thank the team at Crossfire Premier for a wonderful five years! In our time working together our club received many benefits working with one of the strongest brands in youth soccer.

      #2 No chance in hell-

We will continue to play in the Crossfire Premier tournaments and support their
      teams and club.

#3 Try and digest what we are saying in the next passage. Good luck, it's not based on facts it's simply a mindless ramble about a reality we created in our imagination, it will confuse you and give you a glimpse of what motivates us and how gullible you are as parents-

In 2013 OSSA (remember them?)formed a partnership with Crossfire Premier to become Crossfire Oregon. At that time the landscape of youth soccer was changing dramatically. The Timbers were creating their alliance, development academy programs were opening all across the country and local clubs were moving back and forth between OYSA and the OPL. The leadership of then OSSA felt that by aligning with a powerful regional partner our players would be given more high level opportunities.

#4 Even though we have announced the bizarre mid year split from XFP, how bout this anecdote for even more fuzziness-

Five years later the soccer landscape has settled and it is time to part ways with Crossfire
      Premier.

#5 Since we can't explain to the public why we lost the brand mid year. How bout this-

Our club is now strong and stable and we are ready to stand alone and take steps that
will better serve our players, community and state. As Oregon Premier FC we will not have any affiliation with any other youth soccer club in America. In 2019 we will be making changes that will improve our product on and off the field. We will be making changes in registration and payment processes in an effort to make it easier for our families. We will update our communication platforms and continue working on opening a new sports park with turf fields with lights. We will be offering new, unique and creative products on the field for players that strive to play in college.

#6 If this doesn't clear things up for you please rely on the world wide web-

To learn more about our new name and direction and how it may impact our current players you can visit www.oregonpremierfc.com after January 1, 2019.
I’m pretty sure that the contract ended December 31st. That is why it looks like mid year

Not really, although the large numbers are attractive to partners (sponsors, retailers, and Nike/adidas).

No club branding contract would end December 31st since each seasonal year goes from May to April 30. If that were the case who in their right mind would every sign a May to Dec club branding agreement? You are correct that the privilege or right to use the name XF was removed at 1200am Jan 1st. That's why the mid year re-branding happened at such an odd time. Which has nothing to do with the actual agreement or contract. The more you know.

              Whose decision was it?

I would think that without cause, Crossfire Premier wouldn't be able to revoke the rights to the name midyear, if indeed the contract is aligned with the youth soccer calendar. OPFC might have better grounds to terminate the agreement mid-year, as the "buyer" in this agreement (the party paying money for something of value, even if of dubious value). I can't think of any public scandal that would cause CP to dump the Oregon team, even if their style of soccer is sometimes unattractive; they are successful on the field. Perhaps the ECNL honks are right about CP wanting to go more in on ECNL (instead of fielding a B team there), and might want the name "Crossfire" to themselves. Or perhaps they intend to continue to fully support the DA/GDA programs, and rather dislike their affiliate clubs trying to undermine them.

Or, it might be a simple business decision, with nothing sinister about it. "The more you know", in this forum, often follows a statement of complete bollocks, made by someone pretending to be an anonymous insider, but who in reality is pulling stuff out of his or her azz.

When you don’t know the reason this is what you post (above) Or if you do know the reason and want to shift the conversation another direction this is what you post. (See above)

In the end it happened to them by hook, by crook or their 11th hour brain trust. In any case they have a new name and it’s a New Year.

One side says your fired the says I quit. Poof their gone.

                  This might explain the split.

OPFC will be bankrupt shortly with those three clowns running the show.

Heard it was a mutual thing. Isn’t that how most of these end? One side does something the other doesn’t like, and vice versa, some things are said, and it ends.

Big deal. Life is about change. We move on.

I see it was done in the middle of a seasonal year, which explains it wasn't clean or mutual.
