Most new drugs come from the US and are then sold to the rest of the world. Drugs are cheaper elsewhere through a combination of them prescribing, on average, older less expensive drugs and generics, and the fact that the US customer bears all of the R&D costs.

Now, you could argue that it's unfair that the US customer is the one paying for all of the R&D while the foreign customer is paying cost of production plus a profit percentage, but no one has a solution to that one so far.

I would like to point out that the ACHC has only passed in the House. It's not law yet.

Who gets to determine what profits are obscene?

Right, and after it passed, they were allowed to read it....

Are you high? The writing of the ACA was done in secret. It was even hidden from almost all of the Democrats when it was dumped on the house for a vote. The additional work you describe was done after it passed the house and moved on to the senate.

This is the problem with politics. People make these statements talking up previous administrations and thinking it was all so rosey. Your comment is totally true. It was slammed through, and there were many complaints that they didn't have time to read it.

                Sad.

I give people jobs you dope. Where do you think small business entrepreneurs get health insurance coverage?

I guess team trjmp needs a little cheer up, hence this thread about the pause after the first quarter

                    Tee hee

                    Bwa ha ha

This ain't passing senate anyway but as soon as the first #trumprussia indictments come down, the rest is over too

No more judicial appointees....just clock ticking until impeachment or resignation ?

Why did trump give a foreign spy access to our nations highest intelligence for 18 days after he was warned by the Atty. Gen of USA.

                    Treason!

Bad new OCDMan. Bloomberg is reporting health insurance companies are requesting big hikes for their ObamaCare plans next year. They are saying ACA plans could rise more than 20% on average. The first states to make their filings public are Connecticut, Maryland and Virginia. In Connecticut, the requested rate hikes for individuals ranged from 8.4 percent to 52.1 percent. Maryland insurers asked for 9.1 percent to 150.8 percent for individuals, while in Virginia insurers filed for from 1 percent to 179 percent increases for individuals.
