agreed. this coach was known and loved by people all over the south florida soccer scene. great teacher and great coach. this is disturbing at many levels.

that said, the parents do need to step up and take responsibility for travel decisions and arrangements, if they expect their kids to be protected from strangers / pedophiles. no parent should expect this to happen, but they should also step up and pay travel expenses. too many parents look to do this on the cheap and they ask for free rooms, free tickets and free gas. they pile their kids into rooms knowingly with adults that should never share rooms with minors.

face it, most good/caring soccer volunteers know that a large percentage of their players get no interest from the parents at all.

this is horrible for sure, but wise up parents and stop mooching. there are dangers in the world and if you won't pay your kids travel expenses, expect them to bunk up with an adult.

We have had our kid’s coach drive another player to a far away match and hold conferences with a player in his hotel room. The club should not allow these things for the coach’s best interest too.

Parents have being doing this with this man for over a decade. People (and clubs) have alwasy suspected his actions but naive parents still let him hang out with their young kids. Parents and clubs should not act all suprised.

I watched a parent argue with a club when they let him go saying she gave permission for him to take her kid to a tournament. Parents are crazy.
