There are professional teams in Europe that have hired coaches that just specialize in throw ins. And I think each team in the pros probably does about 20 throw ins per game even in Europe. I do agree the ball goes out of bounds a lot less.
According to this article throw-ins occur 40-50 times per match.
I see lots players at many clubs with great potential who have been failed by mediocre coaches with big egos who just want to find talented players to put a team together.
Some of these coaches played some soccer in the past but have failed to evolve therefore they cant pass on what they don't possess.
I see lots of players with good potential who work hard playing the game for years and still don't understand soccer because no one took the time to teach them the game. They move from coach to coach who either assume that they understand the game or don't know enough to teach them
Player Potential + Good Training (good coaching) = Talented Players
The game is evolving coaches have to evolve to develop players with potential to become talented players
We need a system to educate and certify coaches and require mandatory continuing education for our coaches.

Who is going to take responsibility and implement this we need to start with the DOC's

So do it , it starts with you! But your scared because it might effect little Johnny! You might be surprised that the DOC is actually open to it. Remember this your the customer because your paying his salary. Last thing these guys need is unhappy parents believe me!! So stop complaining and do something.
Been with our club about three years now. About once or twice a year I have shared thoughts or ideas with our coaches. Keep in mind different coaches from year to year. Only one time was the coach actually receptive to an idea I had about the team.
From my experience it is really a human people sort of problem. I'm not a blow hard I try to approach these guys in a very kind unassuming way. But either they have been apathetic or even resistant. Like I said one time the coach was receptive and helped address the training issue.
Honestly I think the coaches in the US are actually trained to put up a wall and basically shut out the parents. I suppose it is that way in any sport. The only way to talk sense to any of them is if you have actually become friends with them. That doesn't usually happen.
For those of you in larger metropolitan areas I would suggest shopping your kid from club to club to find the right coach and team that is a good fit for your kid. Competition is usually what rights the ship. Money talks I guess you could say.

Seems you know what’s missing in player development. We need guys like you to coach the next generation. Be part of the solution by doing it yourself?
My child is a goalkeeper and has asked the coach on many occasions if the team can work on free kicks and corner kicks so she can work on defending them and judging the ball and working through traffic. It has happened one time in the last year.
The club should have a full-time GK coach. Move to a club with a full-time GK coach.

That is already being done at the DA level or some bigger clubs. For the rest of the coaches it will be tough. Unless the club helps pay for the coaching education and brings in the instructors to run clinics it is hard for the guy that has a full-time job outside of the sport to continue with the education.
Its end of soccer season again, time to move your kid to a club that meet your kid's needs; unless you're in a monopoly area where there is no choice and training is mediocre across the board and the horrible coaches and entrenched in the monopoly

Yeah right...Kendall does this...Not....As long as it is pay to play this merry go round of incompetent coaches will continue.
interesting you pay and get no quality, strange and backwards isn't it
The coaching in Florida is a disgrace. Kickball, long ball. They try to find a tall girl who can run and you think you will win. It is why our DA teams and ECNL teams get destroyed out of state. Find girls who are great technically, who understand the game, and have a strong soccer IQ. Oh never mind, that only exists in Texas and California and Georgia. The places that are creating national team players.
