was that the game Weston use U9 goals since their goalie is short? I think most players that train as U12 have problems when they face a team that trains with U9 goal heights. Wait until Weston plays Boca on their tuff and have to play with reg goals. Goalies going to get hammed. By the way, the score was 1-0

Exactly. And DA teams have playing time requirements they are supposed to meet. If you want to win you play your top players and keep a short bench. If you are trying to develop you give everyone important time in the field and let them learn by doing.

It's not a hard concept. You can play to develop or you can play to win but you have to choose which one is the priority because you can't do both.

Learning to win is called desire learning to develop at all cost will bring failure in your child.
The balance has to be meet and the term competitive play is not the same as desire passion to win . Competitive play is a coach term for exceptible losses the child suffers they want to win. Kids want candy kids want toys kids want to win. If you do not win your installing a MNT with zero effort to win ..... To me its like watching a dance production the finished product is only up to the Judges and winning is not the objective so depends on how good the judge is to determin if you won or lost the game not the score, this leave a child not fully commited to instict and winning. They want to make the great pass or to build the ball well but not overall care about the winning aspect bad choice in my mind.

Judging is normal in competitive youth soccer. If your kid is not at the top now, chances are he will never be. Take him to the Weston tryouts just for craps and giggles, and see where they place him.

This is beginning to get boring. I thought Wellington could provide more of a challenge to Weston's 07 team after their previous three 3 - 3 game. After today's 9 - 2 thrashing in their field, can anyone bring it?
