You have to be kidding me. DA is supposed to be about professional development. The kids owe it to each other to go as hard as they can, all the time. It's not fair to kids coming off the bench not to turn them loose. It's not fair to the kids losing to not give them the toughest competition possible.

We're not talking about the bench kids getting some playing time against a mediocre opponent. That's what Crossfire ought to be doing, giving it's stars an early rest and letting the subs have some run. Especially since they have two games this weekend, and their other opponent (Washington Timbers) won't be an easy out--and will be ticked off after getting pantsed last weekend.

We're talking about someone who was suggesting that Crossfire's leading scorer would take advantage of a mediocre opponent to run up his goal count, and the further suggestion that FC did the same recently.

This is DA. There is no golden boot passed out at the end of the season, no matter how much a few mommies and daddies might wish otherwise.

Agree with all that and would go a step further: how on Earth are pay-to-play academies justifying not sharing playing time evenly in league-play.

My recollection of the FC v Eastside game was that FC was low on subs and played the kid who scored most of the goals on the back line for the last fifteen minutes of the game.
