Prime is is full of disgruntled players with major buyer's remorse. Don't expect to see that again next year.

DA isn't much better than HS soccer in Florida anyways. The girls have fun playing with their best friends. You only live once and never get your HS years back.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThat doesn't make much sense. One thing that surprised the players is that their high school team comprised of all ECNL players didn't breeze through the high school schedule. Most of the games were challenging to win. There was one or two blow out or mercy rule games but the other 20 games were a battle. The level of high school soccer is higher than people realize. In some areas or divisions this is not the case, but in our district the Divsion 3 and up high school soccer games are true battles. It isn't always beautiful soccer but it is soccer. The high school players get challenged in new ways in different environments. They get to play different positions than in club and they have to learn to get along, be leaders and find ways to work as a team.
Just my 2 cents. I'm sure it is wrong, so blast away.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostYou don't see blowout games because of that disparity in skill level. When you have 2 teams that can play soccer, with GDA, ECNL, top club players, etc, you see passing, possession, set plays, etc. When one of those "good" teams plays a typical high school team of mostly rec players, the reaction is different. Experienced players keep shape and move the ball. Rec players create a herd of 2-3 around the ball and their only chance at a goal is a long kick with breakaway. Experienced players have not seen that since U10. They normally cannot play through that mess and must then resort to long kicks over the back line and outspeed them for a score. That's why all HS ball is kick and run. Only when you get to the regional and state games do you start to see teams play like they do at club.
