ECNL will not have issues. Kids want high school and the ECNL clubs are stronger than DA in Florida and that isn’t changing anytime soon

This make too much sense and why the Clubs themselves will be disciplined if they knowingly break the rules.

LoLolol at "The clubs HAVE to allow it"

You're in for a rude awakening.

How can you state that when ecnl teams don’t play the top players which are for the most part in gda - some of the Florida teams are strong but are getting smoked playing against nt players and stocked teams from up north - can’t even imagine the azzz whooping if they played ecnl teams, ecnl have 2-3 really good player a and a lot of not so good

The only time Fl GDA teams win a game is when they play each other. At least you get 4 chances at it while the out of state team fly to Texas and Virgina to get competitive games. Only conference in the country that doesn’t have a complete schedule because FL is so bad

That doesn't make much sense. One thing that surprised the players is that their high school team comprised of all ECNL players didn't breeze through the high school schedule. Most of the games were challenging to win. There was one or two blow out or mercy rule games but the other 20 games were a battle. The level of high school soccer is higher than people realize. In some areas or divisions this is not the case, but in our district the Divsion 3 and up high school soccer games are true battles. It isn't always beautiful soccer but it is soccer. The high school players get challenged in new ways in different environments. They get to play different positions than in club and they have to learn to get along, be leaders and find ways to work as a team.

They just leave the DA for the HS season and come back afterwards.

DA isn't much better than HS soccer in Florida anyways. The girls have fun playing with their best friends. You only live once and never get your HS years back.

DA players have to get prior approval in August from the DA club and U.S. Soccer has to approve the waiver to play high school. But yes, why not give up DA from high school tryouts until the last high school championship game is played because high school life only happens once in a lifetime?

Because they have a sh$tty high school team or coach. Some do.

You don't see blowout games because of that disparity in skill level. When you have 2 teams that can play soccer, with GDA, ECNL, top club players, etc, you see passing, possession, set plays, etc. When one of those "good" teams plays a typical high school team of mostly rec players, the reaction is different. Experienced players keep shape and move the ball. Rec players create a herd of 2-3 around the ball and their only chance at a goal is a long kick with breakaway. Experienced players have not seen that since U10. They normally cannot play through that mess and must then resort to long kicks over the back line and outspeed them for a score. That's why all HS ball is kick and run. Only when you get to the regional and state games do you start to see teams play like they do at club.

Just my 2 cents. I'm sure it is wrong, so blast away.

These players are made to feel guilty by the DA coaches and in constant fear of consequences from the DA if they play HS soccer.

We've seen the same thing. It's especially obvious when you only have a few GDA, ECNL players on a team they suddenly look average because the game is reduced to kick and chase. Our daughter is a GK and H.S. soccer is great for her because she faces a ton of shots and many of the shots would never occur in club soccer because the teams keep their defensive shape in club.

Exact situation at my child's school. They made big runs towards State the last 3 years. Key players graduated. Now some players don't want to participate anymore. If they can't play post-season, it's not worth their time. Bunch of entitled little sh!ts.
