    That would be good!

I know a kid that is a moderately serious soccer player who would kick the tail of most the "serious" players you refer to. Is in regular communication with three good D1 coaches that are trying to convince their program is best. Has has a lot more schools expressing interest. Also plays high school. Has a lot of fun doing club and school in a balanced life.

The hyper focused "serious" studies are for kids that lack athletic talent and pure natural ability.

I know an Alliance player that played high school soccer and just verbally committed to play at a local d3 school. There are many paths. Good players can play in college if they want.

A teenager who is a serious musician, and who dreams of going to Julliard and playing for a major symphony orchestra (let alone becoming a soloist), generally isn't going to worry about whether or not she has time to play for the HS pep band. Perhaps her development includes that--perhaps not--but belting out "Rock and Roll Part 2" at basketball games will not prepare one adequately for a professional career in music. If you want to be a serious musician, than serious training is required.

This is true for many endeavors in both sports and the arts.

Nothing wrong with pep band, or HS soccer--if you want to pursue music or sports as a hobby, and have a lot of fun doing it, then these things are great. But they won't lead to Carnagie Hall or Camp Nou.
dang bro that got me all bound up tight and laughing out loud. Keep up the good work.

Most girls play in state. Playing oysa is all that is necessary to play at almost all the schools like Lewis & Clark, Wilamette, G.Gox, Pacific, SOU, WOU, etc. It’s only the players that desire to play for tougher conferences or higher programs that can get a big boost from gda/ecnl.

Says no one in this state. Ecnl is a joke in Oregon and they can't even get into George fox.

Something like 90% of girls do go to in state colleges. Girls from OYSA & Gda & Ecnl have been getting into d1, d2 & d3 schools from all the leagues. There is probably a boost to get seen for out of state colleges if youd dd plays on a team that travels out of state, whether that’s Ecnl, Gda or a travel Oysa team. Plenty of options and if a girl wants to play in college she can find a college somewhere. Nice to have choices.

Don't tell the fc Portland and cu trolls who lie about Ecnl when it's clear their 2018 class is as empty as NEU. When Eugene has more college commits to better schools you know you've been scammed for 10k for crap coaching and mediocre competition. Ecnl is a joke now.

Unlike you, I don’t have a problem with Ecnl (or Gda or Oysa). Eugene does get girls into college. However, the fact that a handful of Eugene’s best choose to drive to play Ecnl or Gda is also telling. The Pac12 commits usually need to switch to Ecnl/Gda in order to start getting used to the speed of Pac12 play. There is no need to bash any program! Gda/Ecnl/Oysa all have pros & cons. Bashing any one league just makes you look silly.

FC Portland ECNL 2001 finished in fourth place in OYSA Premier? That's pretty good.

They would still be top 6-7 in Oregon at the 2001 age level.

Link to results showing any ECNL team playing in OYSA?

Don’t think their 2001 ECNL team ever won anything but still a decent team.
