Not even then. With average rosters of 22-24, if a club waivers a very high number of 6 players then you're down to 16-18. But most clubs won't waiver nearly that many if at all. You're still at the back of the line. Add in limited sub rules and you're still not playing. Practice players will not be a priority for PT. No way I'd have my kid do that unless we had zero club options within an hour's drive from home. In FL that's pretty unlikely - you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a decent club option

GDA will be 12/6 - 12/9. That is the schedule we were given by our DOC. I don't know if boys will be the same time, before or after but, your coach or DOC should know have that answer already.

The interesting component for the older ages is ID camps and test dates. I would think that there will be plenty of dates where the normal traveling 18 will have things that will take them away. Even the occasional National call up takes a few players out now and then.

Depends on the club - my kid at MLS boys club? You don't miss for anything. They don't even care about testing or college visits. You work around their schedule. NT is different and the clubs want you going to those because it is good marketing for them. Yes that means you better plan well in advance when you're doing recruiting and when to take tests.

According to a webinar they had yesterday, the boys (U16/17 and U18/19) showcase is November 30-December 4 at Lakewood Ranch.

The girls showcase is December 6-10 also at Lakewood Ranch.

Thought the whole point of giving IMG a DA was to have showcases at IMG.

All teams play at the same time (although the youngest teams don't participate in all events ). You can't justify having a separate event for one age group - you run it when all the coaches are there

They used to have the ecnl oldest Composite teams compete at a separate time and location, but good to hear. They should compete at the same time and location.

DA/GDA/ECNL should have a combined showcase

We all know the DA and now the GDA will have the pick of the share of coaches watching and recruiting, but the ECNL (for girls at least) HAS BEEN the helm of recruiting. It stands to reason a combined DA/GDA/ECNL showcase would give coaches the greatest scenario to see the bevy of players available. Is something like that occurring?? A combined SHOWCASE?

Is the ECNL Composite 99-00 showcase the same date as Sanford ?

No, it is not. The ECNL Composite event (for U16 and U18 composite teams - not necessarily the U18/19 composite team that a club can assemble - not required - to play in the league) will be held in Palm Coast on December 1, 2 and 3.

The GDA Showcase will be held at Lakewood Ranch December 6-10.

The ECNL Sanford event is January 6, 7 and 8. The composite teams are NOT entered in this event.

None are at the same time.

ECNL defines their composite showcase as:

ECNL Composite Events are established to provide players from ECNL Member Clubs with additional competition structures for mixed age group teams, teams competing in non-traditional seasons, and for other development purposes. Each participating team will play three games over the course of three days. To encourage players to "play up" against older competition, ECNL Composite Events will only include U16 and U18/U19 age groups, and will be expected to consist predominantly of mixed age-group teams. Befitting the name "composite," games at each event will be scheduled to provide "like vs. like" competition based on the make-up of each participating team.
