Thank you for the compliment. It's nice to be appreciated even if my picks are sometimes way off! With the rigors of last weekend's double-headers in the rear view mirror, this weekend's schedule is light by comparison. Oakwood ventures northward to Seacoast, the Bolts 16s and 18s head to Montreal (with the 14s playing at Met Oval), and the Revs host BW Gottschee. Here's what might transpire:

    U18

Seacoast has come back to the pack a little bit while Oakwood has surged toward the top of the table. Look for that trend to continue (even with two of Oakwood's best players away at U18 MNT camp). Oakwood 2 - Seacoast 1

Facing the top team in the division on their home field presents a difficult challenge for the struggling Bolts, who have won only once in their last 6 games. The Bolts compete well in Montreal, but it may not be enough. Montreal 3 - Bolts 1

Hot on the heels of a 4-point weekend, the Revs can get to .500 with a win. They may have to wait another week to reach level ground. Revs 1 - BWG 1

    U16

Oakwood swept the DC/VA teams last week and had the national U16 DAP player-of-the-week. That combination will make it difficult for the Epping-based side to claim their first victory. Oakwood 2 - Seacoast 1

Like their 18s, the Bolts 16s have won only once in their past 6 matches and face a tall task on the road in Canada. The result will likely be the same. Montreal 3 - Bolts 1

It's tight at the top of the table, and BWG can leapfrog the Revs with a win. This should be one of the best games of the weekend. Revs 2 - BWG 2

    U14

Seacoast got in the win column last week at Met Oval, but the visitors from CT may not be so accommodating. Oakwood 3 - Seacoast 1

The Bolts will depart the historic NYC soccer venue with a resounding victory. Bolts 3 - Met Oval 0

Watch for the Revs-BWG clash to be a masterpiece, with both sides showing technical prowess and healthy dose of flair. Too close to call, but the edge may fall to the home team. Revs 2 - BWG 1

When is ever a nice day in Queens? The whole place should be bulldozed

People here jump on the U16's really quick when they have poor results. Anyone want to step up and give them a little credit after this win on the road ?

Great job Bolts 16s! That was a tough team to beat at home

"Dangerous conditions"?!? The games yesterday were played in similar conditions- no issues

What was the danger exactly? Hypothermia, exposure, drowning? I'm pretty sure valeo U 12's played? They must be super human.

The slight accumulation of snow produced an icy surface and odd clusters of the little black pellets had formed on the field.

Excellent preparation for dealing with conditions that they would see as professional players.

A quick look at the match report will put this win in perspective. Anyone who saw the game care to comment?

Two red cards on Impact - If you can't win a game 11 vs 9....

Bolts were already winning the game before the red cards given (I’m sure losing the game and the frustration that came with that helped with the red card issues). The second was after the foul that gave them the penalty kick for the second goal, when a player was clean through on goal.

Some people just cant give any credit at all to these kids. They kept their composure and didn't get any red cards and kept a shutout against a supposedly better team at their place.
How about just now and then give a Mass team some credit when it’s due.

I’m sure you'll get plenty of chances to criticize them again during the season
