Legally it's the school's responsibility to run background checks. If he had no record then he had no record. Prior employers most times will not state anything beyond dates of employment and salary. If they say more they could get sued. Why should others lose their jobs if they knew nothing about this guy? That is patently unfair to innocent people. The school and the police will, however, likely talk to players to make sure nothing happened to any of them.

This little pervert was not a lifetime coach like these English guys you see on the sideline in the track suits with the adidas shoes. He had a corporate job. Doubt he was showing off his Johnson to real women at work. He liked to show off the little guy to underage girls who maybe arent aware yet of how lacking it is vis a vis the rest of the adult male population. More likely he was looking left when at the urinal and checking out some of the guys at work in the bathroom. Physically, this guy reminds me of Bartolo Colon, the ex mlb pitcher. I don’t want to be judgmental, but looking at him in that police blotter pic and in hindsight, he looks creepy. Probably has a cold wet handshake. Makes you want to run to the nearest bathroom after shaking hands with him. Staples took him down off the website. Any day know, Barry will be coming out of his alcohol induced coma after winning the women’s d2 championship as part of U Bridgeport staff and will realize what went down on his watch and the shame it has brought to Westport. Don’t hire “one of the boys“, cause if they go down so do you. It comes with managing a department.

Staples should investigate this and dig deep. Ensure that there was never any locker room banter that this guy may have been a part of. Chances are there were signs and people missed them.

This isn’t the EPL, this is an Institution of learning, soccer is a privliage not a right. So a head coaches are responsible for their staffs and ensuring kids safety. It’s not fair but the school can’t take a chance that there is a smoking gun somewhere. Just clean house and start fresh, not worth the liability that they could be exposed too.

They would first want to make sure no students were involved and next, try and figure out if there's any gaps in the system/ways to prevent something from happening in the future. That's about all a school can do. It's impossible to make it 100% fool proof until someone comes up with a way to read minds.
