This is his last year with his so called superstar and he feels bad because they will lose against Immaculate and next year they won’t even be in the hunt.

they will win or lose based on their efforts -not some fat F with his excuse already in hand
for Christ sake they arent playing the USWNT, they are playing girls their age.no matter how it goes they will survive-you on the other hand will be bitter long after they hsve gotten over it
and if you think these kids are getting cash for playing, why dont you call up the admissions office and tell them your kids a stud and whats the offer-they will laugh and then hang up on your crazy azz

Old Lyme has the best player. Would love to see them sit back and play to her on counters
the only reason it would be one sided is if all you have is the best player . IHS isnt all that

Old Lyme shouldn't be in class S anyway, they have won the state title three years in a row. How about the coach challenge his team and move up to class M. Suffield could be racking up state titles to if they stayed in class M but they have moved up to class LL. The coach should stop his whining.

Read the rules
Thanks for suggesting, the rules state that the tournament success factors apply only to schools of choice, e.g., Immaculate. They also indicate that choice team moves up when they don't make the semis for at least 2 of the past 3 years. What does not make ANY sense is why Immaculate would move down 2 years after WINNING their division (2014L and 2016M).
"Each year the committee will review results from the past three years and make adjustments as appropriate."
Seems that they have some strong lobbyists on the CIAC.

Don't like the rule? Good luck getting it changed..
The Boys and Girls Soccer Committee voted to apply a success in tournament factor when placing schools* that draw students from outside their school district boundaries in tournament divisions. The Committee will first place schools in their divisions by enrollment and then use success in tournament to move schools up in division and then rebalance the divisions. Schools that draw from outside their school district boundaries who
have been in the semi-finals or above two of the last three years will move up one division. Schools that have been in the semi-finals three of the last three years will move up two divisions. The most any school could move would be two divisions. Each year the committee will review results from the past three years and make adjustments as appropriate. Schools can move up or down depending on their success in tournament play.
*Charter, magnet, parochial, vocational technical, vocational agricultural and Project Choice schools that have more than 25 each of male/female students from out-of-district.
Next year IHS will be back in Class M
2017 IHS out second round (M)
2016 IHS Champs (M)
2015 IHS out in quarters (L)
2014 IHS Champs(L)
2013 IHS out in Semis(L)

2016 IHS Champs (M)
2015 IHS out in quarters (L)
2014 IHS Champs(L)
2013 IHS out in Semis(L)
That would mean IHS would have moved to LL after their 2014 L title.
Furthermore, you should have to FAIL to reach quarters or better for two straight years before you get to move down ONE level.
That means IHS would have had to play LL for 2015 and 2016....THEN they would get to play L for 2017 and this year.
