Karen is a dad so go with Steve.
I don't get the vibe Steve is responding to himself it seems he has told us he is reporting the town team and he has dropped the mike and left this weird thread.
But I looked into it and Karen Dad, Steve, is not all wrong and maybe town teams should slow down before they ruin it for everyone.
My kid is playing for a club that follows every rule, coaches in masks, signs are at practices, kids told to bring sanitizer, parents in mask, kids are even wearing masks to their designated cone where they are to leave their water bottle and backpack then they can take the mask off. The parents arrive in shifts and there are not many teams practicing on the same field as once was. I agree that the towns need to put in the same effort or someone maybe the Karen guy will start taking photos on their cell and report them or worse post the photos on social media.

This. Everyone is a keyboard warrior and thinks they know everything and anybody that disagrees with them is a Karen/Richard. Anyone who is a coach, board member, parent, etc should read the rules at least a couple of times. If you see something that doesn’t look right reach out to the coach or board and talk about it. Help them get to the right answer. Most would appreciate a quick call or email and make it right.

Who put the rules together? What makes anyone think these “rules” are doing anything other than killing the love many kids have for the game? You people are damn sheep. You deserve the lockdown. No different than when we were all told to stay indoors and towns and cories closed athletic fields. My kids were out using those closed fields. I’m sure you all stayed home.

Feel free to let a virus no worse than the flu run your life. Feel free tk allow the government to impose it’s will on every single aspect of our daily lives all in the name of public safety. I’ll be doing something different...

Insults can feel like they will be effective, but not so much. Catch up on some of those home projects you've been putting off. Get to know your spouse again (if you have one). No soccer for the foreseeable future.

My trust in the people who write the guidelines/rules went out the door the day they allowed people to enter casinos to gamble. Meanwhile my kid can’t play a soccer scrimmage outdoors. Pathetic to say the least.

The day after, I emailed my kid’s coach and in writing told him that I don’t care if he “breaks” the so called rules. Unfortunately his hands are tied.

              Yes sir 💯
              Hypocrisy abounds
So much so that every American can point out the glaring examples

Let’s us decide for ourselves what risk we want to take.

Most likely Americans just like you and me who are trying to do their jobs.

You are welcome and even encouraged to run for public office or otherwise work for the government and try and do better for all of us. We need all the help we can get in this pandemic, which is clearly not "no worse than the flu."

I think Franklin, Norfolk, Wrentham. That area. If this was Newton or Concord, none of those parents would allow Mia and Chad to participate in 2 v 2 during COVID. If this was Lawrence and Haverhill, they'd be running full field scrimmages. This complaint smells like the Franklin area where most people still think for themselves but they're on the commuter rail so they do sometimes get infiltrated by their snobby counterparts closer to the city.

                        This

                        Letter from CEO Kevin Payne
As a reminder: for activities to be sanctioned with the normal US Club Soccer-provided insurance coverage in effect, members returning to play must be in compliance with requirements/mandates established by the applicable local and state public health authorities.

Maybe Karen is Kevin. Either way follow the damn rules and while you are at it wash your hands. No reason why we can't all be on the same page here or M*******s will keep our kids from having a season like our fellow neighboring states are planning. Grow up.

This thread is a prime example of how we are in the process of wrecking our economy and wont be able to shake this virus until next year...because we have too many idiots who watch way too much lobbyist paid for TV that tells them what works best for the lobbyists political views and are blowing this off.
Wearing a mask isnt hard, but apparently being a massive baby about it is easier.
Enjoy another 8 months or more of this, and the enormous dent in our economy, because you need to be a bunch super babys and cry about that thing the pundit told you to because its way more important to worry about how politicians look than common sense...SMH
Now go cry about your freedoms and masks while you put your seat belt on in your own car because the law says you need to... while wearing something over your privates because the law says you need to...nevermind going into a store because they have all those restrictive shirt and shoes rules...

So, no parents in masks, no coaches in masks, no temp checks, not even one sign about COVID symptoms, screening form nothing. About 40 kids practicing as a few teams were combined. Although they didn't scrimmage they played 2 v2 etc. I won't be going back. Other towns are following rules and my kids club is doing a stellar job on the COVIS screening and telling parents to spread out... it sucks when a town throws caution to the wind. I'm so done.
Town soccer is a ****e show on many levels. What you describe is just one issue.
You always have the option of petitioning the league for your son or daughter to play for another town. It is allowed in the bylaws and I wouldn't hesitate to exercise the option if you are unhappy. Pick a nearby town that has a good coach. Good luck.

Or is this a person who is going to be unhappy no matter where they go? If you're unhappy because the coach didn't put up a Covid sign I think you aren't likely to be satisfied anywhere...
