Yeah right, Stanford was on an incredible win streak until some goons took down Smith and Davidson, both WNT Players with season ending injuries. With those two on the pitch, we all know who would have lifted the crown. And we also know who the loser is.

How about starting for the WNT23 team last week. Looks pretty healthy to me.

Maccario won the Hermann trophy last season, but last September she was IMO the 4th best player on Stanford.

#1 Davidson scheduled to play in the WWC 2019 for the USA
#2 Smith Star of the US WNT U20 and now youngest player on the U23 team. Also called up to the Senior WNT for several games.
#3 Jordan DiBiasi Quarterback of the Stanford team and star for the USWNT U23.

How could she match that.

This should be about as good a game as we could put on up here. Rutgers is Nationally Ranked with a quality win over Tennessee. Stingy defense as always allowing 2 goals in their 5 wins. Hopefully Princeton can give them a game tonight.

Macario should suit up for Brazil, the country she is a citizen of. They could use some youth, and are more likely to play a better style of soccer. She has years to go before she can officially suit up for the US WNT.

no one said they would. As to your pick of the litter comment, it depends what you value. UNC valued speed and rotated heavily. in a game where you can sub with re-entry, that simply lower the tactical and technical standards. It removes the option of wearing down teams with intelligent possession and capitalizing. It allows coaches to throw fresh bodies at talented creative players all game with very little penalty.

UNC solved this particular quirk of US soccer and has been rewarded with titles. Good for them.

As other programs have gained momentum, the strategy is less effective vs them.

Really?? UVA is loaded with YNT kids. From GK through forwards. Have been for years. And they have won no national championships yet.

FSU stole one a fews years back when they were only minutes away from add'l time, but that's the closest they have come in a long time.
