    No big surprises here.

Actually I thought Brown might pass USC😉.

So FSU has a bit to play for. UNC can take a draw here and get everything they need. As for the NCAA’s, with USC and UCLA faltering and UVA with a low RPI, both teams seem to be a lock for #1 seeds no matter what happens on Thursday. Just playing each other will boost their RPI’s.
??? No question they both want to win this game. Do you really think they manage big games for seeding and RPI? They have players who want to win, not to mention fans and potential recruits watching. Coaches live for this.

        Surprised USC didn’t fall further.

Surprised South Carolina and BYU have fallen back so far. SC tied Tennessee and BYU hasn’t dropped a game.

What’s up with Hofstra? They keep moving up, but their schedule is relatively weak.

Remember this is RPI. BYU is now playing weak teams. The coaches will keep them where they are at least. Remember Hofstra played some good teams early on. As those team’s records improve, Hofstra benefits, even though they are playing sucky teams now. As for South Carolina, who knows where all the SEC teams fit into things.

            Week 5 in the Ivy

            The leader

Brown has the week off. They play Cornell. 5-0

            The first chaser

Yale is the next back. They still get to play and beat Brown and earn the tie break. They have also beaten Princeton. They play Penn next, no easy task. That game is a toss up.

            The second chaser

Harvard is next. The play the best worst team in the league, Princeton. Not sure about the team’s spirit after the Brown game. I am going with Princeton here. Sorry, Harvard.

            The hanger on

Columbia has a loss and a tie. They need a lot of bad things to happen to the teams above them. Knowing the Ivy, they probably will. Just hang tight and beat Dartmouth. Who knows, next week you might be in second place?

Granted, but Hofstra jumped a few spots since last week for tieing UNCW?

Listened to Georgetown Coach after the Butler game. He seemed quite happy getting the draw playing Butler at home given his lead in the standings. Sure both teams are battling to win. But coaches can set up formations and playing styles to better ensure the other team doesn’t score. That pushes less folks forward, meaning their chance of scoring is lower.

Some teams play for a draw. The ACC seems to be doing it a lot anymore. Parking the bus and both leaving with a point. The plan is to settle it in the tourney.

Ivy will be decided way before Brown/Yale game

Last season Princeton won on the last day.

If UVA finish the reg season unbeaten they will be a 1 seed. Why you think FSU and UNC are a lock for a one when BOTH could be 2 loss teams is beyond me. Right now, Chris Henderson has UVA as 1

Your comment is misleading. Weaker teams will do it vs 2 ACC teams. FSU and UVA. Both those teams will destroy weaker teams if those teams leave gaps by trying to play open soccer. Heck, Duke played 5 atb vs UVA after 25 mins because it was clear that they would lost big if they didn't'

Thats why the folks who use W/L to determine "better teams" are lost. FSU and UVA play their style every game. They try and outplay you. No one else in the ACC does that. The fact that they lose so little doing that is impressive.

The plan is not to settle anything in the tourney. If your kids actually played for big programs you may have a clue. At top programs, they play their style and live with it

Douche. My kid does. The fact that FSU and UVA play their style is that they have the same kids playing together for the past several years. Very little change. And the comment was about the Duke game, to settle it in the tourney with UVA. Go back to your rabbit hole. We actually try to talk soccer here. Try to stay up.

Chris changes his mind every week. The ACC Tourney lies ahead and that will influence the RPI and seedings quite a bit. I notice he has Brown as a #3 seed.
