O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all of us command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

MLS is not the problem
MLS is not the problem. Lack of good youth coaching is the biggest problem. Also a lack of serious youth participation. Most kids only practice at practice so their growth is very slow.
MLS could be the solution if the sport continues to get more popular. Eventually more kids will start playing. After all baseball is boring, football is for meatheads, and basketball only has five players on a court at a time..sooooo
MLS is only helping not hurting.

The list of other issues - omg. USSF incompetence, too many leagues and clubs, family frustrations with the constantly changing landscape and sham clubs, high cost of participation and travel, the goal of college vs going pro, too much travel, not nearly enough free play to encourage creativity and learning....
MLS? Well in some ways they are doing things right - their training is free which means it's about skill not ability to pay, and some are starting residency programs. But clubs can't currently profit much from players they develop. Because they're in BDA they have to spend a great deal of money to train 98% of players that won't ever go pro. Players who make it to MLS won't find the same quality of coaching, competition or teammate challenges they would get abroad.

They are coached by volunteer parents or lowest level licensed coaches. They only get decent coaching if they move high up the soccer ladder as they get older. Even then, as we know, coaching quality is still inconsistent. Bad habits have to be corrected later on. More importantly it's years of lost opportunity. Iceland got every single coach UEFA A or B licensed. Every child 5+ has a quality coach. In just about any other country there are so many former pro players and solid coaches that kids get quality coaching from the get go.
