They aren't as strong as they once were. Very very weak coaching slate, bad reputation with bullying and preferential treatment to players who's parents donate money to the club. In the past no one was in the area to compete with the Weston program but now Juventus and Barcelona have set up shop nearby. Inter Miami looks more like an enemy at this point to Weston than an ally with Weston blocking their players from going to Inter for Inter's discovery program. Just not a good look overall when Weston has to block players from going to Inter. Thats a clear sign that the club sees themselves as being vulnerable and can't afford to weaken any of their teams. Another issue is that Weston is not attracting players like it once did and they depend on other clubs to develop the players that they eventually take.
