Junior showcase was canceled. I expect the one around the new year to be canceled as well.

The republican party is looking into this and will observe the issues and help reopen the showcase soon !

Dumb arse DeSantis wouldn't force it to be cancelled, but once enough clubs drop out the organizers will kill it. At best you could run a FL-only event because most out of state families don't want travel to FL right now, or anywhere. It's going to be awhile before big showcases come back

I would bet anything that the colleges that are listed will certainly attend. they are all private, D3 schools, NAIA, and a sprinkling of d2. There will not be a single D1 school attending this event.

Our club got the email that they intend on holding the event the 27th-31st and asked for all clubs/teams that have registered to email them back to confirm they are still interested. They are sending out acceptances the first week of December.

The dumb one is the person who expresses his own uninformed ignorant opinion of what he thinks should happen as being fact. Thank god only some of the people think like you do. Many smarter people understand the cure can't be worse than the disease, or put another way, you can't burn down the village to save it. If we did what you seem to want, many more lives would have already been destroyed and we would be on our way to economic ruin. It may yet happen if the people advocating an all-considering balanced approach do not prevail. Anyhow to refute your view that nobody will travel, there were many out of state teams at last weeks North Carolina Showcase (formerly known as CASL). This weekend there is a 500 team tournament in Arizona. Most of the teams are from outside of Arizona. So evidence says your personal opinion that teams won't travel has already been proven wrong. The great thing about America is they can't force you to go. Please stay home in your house and protect yourself and family if you believe that will keep you healthy & safe, but don't try to impose your views on everyone else. Smart people know that no nation or government leader has been able to stop this terrible disease. More people are wearing masks than ever (yes masks help) and new cases are exploding. Don't take away childhood in a misguided attempt to stop an unstoppable viral disease. You only get one chance at being a kid

lol... DeSantis is an idiot and they may manage to hold a tournament, but it'll be another disaster in terms of spreading covid and also from a money standpoint. There may be a lot of morons in Florida and nation-wide, but you're still not going to fill an event with this risk profile.
