      Hi, thanks, was looking for something to support the statement "...most indoor facilities don't have adequate ventilation".

        I would think just breathing inside an indoor soccer facility would confirm the lack of proper ventilation.

          You would be incorrect. Take away the mommies and the daddies there and the population drops immediately in half. Add in those who drag their kids there, it's even more.

            Of course and have zero issue with it, regardless of ventilation being adequate or not. Enough of the arrogance that the virus can be beat. This is here to stay, so let's get on with learning to live with it. I will get it, you will get it, our friends and family will get it. Some will die (0.001% or something like that), just like they do for other reasons.

            Don't feel safe having your kids playing indoors? I'm 100% ok with that. Just don't send them. Same as grocery stores, movie theaters, schools, etc.

              Breathing=lack of proper ventilation? Wow.

              As the poster asked, where is the data stating these facilities have improper ventilation.
              One of your articles above highlights the relative safety of a standard ventilation system in a supermarket - while people are not wearing masks. Another gives the WHO guidance on what constitutes safe ventilation, meaning that there is such a thing.

              Many of these facilities have very high ceilings and modern ventilation. Do not equate these systems with the risk associated with an in home gathering.

                This is a misleading statement. Cases have shown up on hockey teams but there has been no tracing to show where the cases come from. Gov says the two week hiatus is to give them time to assess this. Press release says something along the lines of - we don’t know where this is coming from, on the ice, in the locker room or from social gatherings.
                These kids play a sport together but also hang out together and with other kids away from the sport. These hang outs are not controlled environments like the sports are supposed to be. If the guidelines are being followed, then playing a sport is frequently safer than not playing a sport because of the controlled vs uncontrolled environment

                  That's a bad assumption. There are many factors that go into a well and poorly ventilated building. Just having it be inside doesn't mean it lacks proper ventilation. You need to take into account interior air volume, windows, vents, blowers, etc., which all determine air exchanges per hour.

                      In New Hampshire there were 23 different rinks and 158 people who tested COVID 19 positive who were contact traced to one of those rinks. There have been other recent outbreaks at rinks on the South Shore.

                        In other words... hockey bad, soccer good.

                        Love the beautiful game.

                            excellent point, plus is it players or parents? plenty of parents chatting it up on the soccer sidelines and I imagine they are at hockey also.

                              The CDC says 15 minutes of exposure over a 24hr period is the new standard.

                              Bye-bye futsal until 2022.

                              10-17 year olds aren’t slated to receive any vaccine for the first 18 months.

                                No big deal, we'll just wear masks. Or do they not work?
