For the girls born in 2000, for those born from January to July, they should be graduating in 2018. For the girls born August to December of 2000, as well as the girls born January to July of 2001, they should be graduating in 2019. Since 7/12 of the months fall into the one age group, the majority of the girls born in 2000 should be graduating in 2018 - or be seniors next year.

Yes and in some states even more - a few allow for fall birthdays and a handful as late as Dec 31st. net/net the majority will be seniors next year and are juniors now.

Just go and speak to any college coach about ECNL in Florida and they will say it's a rec program. They won't even watch ECNL Fl games anymore. Boca United has made ECNL a laughing stock in Florida. 3/4 of their senior team isn't recruited and the few who are could only get to mid level D2 schools. ECNL could have made a huge impact in Florida and it could have been great for Fl kids but instead it's now a joke because they picked clubs like Boca United. Look at the BU teams and you'll see several players there who weren't starters on their former team. What a disgrace.

Stay of the state cup cool aid. Go and look at JFC, OC and WFF college commitments you moron. Those 3 clubs have as many D1 commitments as the entire state of Florida combined.

The cut off date for school is Sept 1. So January - August 2000 birthdays = 8 out of 12 months will graduate in 2018. The younger Sept-Dec 2000 players may have the advantage because they do not graduate until 2019 but may be seen earlier in the recruitment process, almost like they are playing up.

I think his comment was geared more towards south Florida. Boca United ECNL teams have been an embarrassment not only on the field but this year's u18/19 team's recruitment has been horrible, BU has set back ECNL in Florida without a doubt.

That is due to US soccer choosing to move forward with restructuring the league on a birth year based requirement without understanding the players involved. It is a disgrace for 99 juniors to be forced to find a new team. These kids have been playing with their teams for years. Mine since 6 years old. There could have been a plan at the u 13 level to integrate this thinking but instead they SCREWED all 99 players in the most important year. So now many 99 juniors ( remember they are still classmates) have to find a team with players that either are committed or don't care. This should be unacceptable if the kids best interest is in mind. And going forward all kids born in September to December will face this problem. We are in America not Europe and our kids want to play in college. I will continue to use this forum to show how wrong this is

As long as they have a team to play on when it's time for them to getting recruited. Most of their team will be gone when they're ramping up. Coaches may look at them but they tend to focus on filling their immediate needs first

Note sure how one team can set an entire State back? College coaches will recruit from anywhere. I understand you have issues with BU but have to disagree that BU had a negative impact on the State of Florida ECNL situation.

Not only that but coaches recruit players, not teams or leagues. Good players can still be recruited from bad teams, and playing on a bad team in a tough league doesn't discount them. Bad team in a bad league is different, but even then if you can get a coach to look at you, you still have a shot.

You may have been trying to bash BU but your comment is pretty insightful with regards to recruiting. Yes, the recruiting of this U18/19 has been very poor. The simple reason is this team is just not very good and has never been very good (even when playing non ECNL opponents). The talent is just not there, it has not been developed (the majority of this team has been at BU for over 5 years), and the club has failed to recruit even with ECNL and the Chung spin. However, the insightful part is that girls in this age group ARE getting recruited at other clubs simply because college coaches are looking for talent, not club badges or league badges.

LMAO. One single team has destroyed the entire level of soccer in the state of florida? I think your grudge against BU goes a bit deeper than the quality of soccer.

But more important, what is your solution? BU is dropping ECNL. Who is the replacement? That's right, NO ONE! Not another single club in south florida stepped up and applied for ECNL. All of these 'fantastic' clubs are just sitting back and continuing on with the status quo. Play in the rec league of SFUYSA, maybe FSPL, and the ole mighty and outdated State Cup tournament.

So you bitch and moan against a particular club, but no other club steps in to make it better? If you don't have a better idea, then STFU.
