Will those clubs/players currently in the 04/U12 DA have the option to continue on in the DA after this spring or is the current U12 DA coming to an end after this spring (for the Oregon 04 teams) with the 05's taking their place next year? In other words, will those DA teams move their 04's to the OYSA?

It's an indisputable fact that NO LOCAL Oregon Club was selected to be part of the GDA in it's first year.
There is always next year! Keep working at it! Don't give up! You can do it!
The new contract that the USWNT players will be getting will drastically cut their pay for playing in the NWSL and the league can't stand on it's own. The ride is almost over for the NWSL.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostCorrection, all of our teams have been registered with OYSA over the last couple of years. Some individual teams in our clubs have switched to US Club Soccer but it has nothing to do with how good they are. It's about the leagues they play in, nearly all of our FC Portland club teams are currently registered with the OYSAL all of our teams have been registered with the OYSA at some point. Sorry if my post was intentionally misleading.
Boys DA
Girls DA
ECNL
ENPL (if it comes to Oregon)
Do/will these teams also register with OYSA?

I think the rule is that if you are on a girls DA team you can play high school soccer but you cannot be rostered with the da team at the time. So you will have to be taken off the da roster during the high school season. It will be highly discouraged because da has games during the high school season.

The GDA teams can't afford to have all their top players miss 10-12 games during the HS season. They have an obligation to field "competitive" teams for all matches (competitive might not really mean competitive when it comes to the Thorns Academy however).

What we are looking at here is a fundamental difference in development perspectives. GDA will allow two months off from GDA to allow for HS play because they understand that girls get more overuse injuries... that can take them completely out of the game. ECNL on the other hand plays the girls out 24/7. They allow HS.. but girls are still practicing with ECNL, doing tournaments all summer, showcases in fall.. etc. ECNL has already been tagged as being the tier 2 league after 2017... GDA will be bringing in the girls who will have shots at D1 but also USWNT and playing abroad. That's not for everyone.. but for those who play at that level.. it's what is needed for USA.
