Loomis peaked at the right time of the season. Wins over Choate and Worcester on consecutive days is quite a feat.

      Hmm... seems they have 😀

Pingree's keeper kept them in the game against st.marks and then came up with two huge saves on PKs. The better team didn't win there, the better player did.

The team that has the most points at the end of the game wins. That was Pingree on this day, so yeah they were better.

Don't necessarily agree with the coin toss analogy here. Semi final game Pompfret vs. Pingree would have not have gone to PKs if the Pomfret player had not taken down the Pingree defender from behind and then scored (ref. failed to make the call). Game would appropriately ended at the end of OT. Also, not a fan of Pomfret's style of play (kick, run, & fall). St. Marks, on the other hand, was a formidable opponent.

I see what you're saying, but I wouldn't go as far to say a coin toss. GK are able to make saves, and all of the kickers are to settle their nerves and put the ball in the back of the net. Easier said than done.

All the credit goes to the players and coach, they defied all odds, co-ed day school at best has 500 students and they showed up every game prepared and well coached. They moved up to the B class just last year, they played many A class teams and came up on top with only 1 loss all season to BBN, they are a great group of players and they do have an amazing keeper and she is a great kid too!!!

As they say, it is what it is. Congratulations to Pingree for taking the title. 4 great teams made it to the semi-finals and they battled each other hard. PK's are the way ties are settled in soccer and that's what these games came down to. No shame in losing in PK's and no shame in winning PK's. Them's the rules.

You do realize you revived a week old thread to tell someone to let it go?

Do they charge you to create a thread? Why the heck would you dredge up last year's thread to begin discussion on 2017. Who's going to go to a thread labeled 2016?

There is already a Girls Prep 2017 thread going. There has been very little activity on it. I suggest folks head over to that one.
