Where do you get this from? The kids we know that have left were a) weaker kids who didn't make an NPL or ECNL team b) kids with crazy parents who thought they could tell the coach what to do while their kids were just not as good as they thought they were

It's not creepy but just stupid. Everything changes in middle school. Puberty, bigger field, changing interests, top players move up the ladder. Parents who haven't been through it think their kid whose team won a Needham bracket will get a D1 scholarship

Yup. I can guarantee every parent participating has never had a kid go through the soccer gauntlet yet. They'll eventually learn, the hard way. Some will own up to their foolishness, most never will.

I think SSS is still probably #2 until the rest of the combined teams play together for a while and the Scorpions team is a few spots to high, but probably the 10 best teams going into the spring.

Also agree next year will be totally different with lots of movement and it will take some time to sort out.

These teams are about to get shuffled like a deck of cards based upon not only ability, but whether kids want to play HS soccer.

You can guarantee no such thing. I know of several parents who have been through the "gauntlet" and know EXACTLY what is coming down the road. I wonder if you do?
