Strive to be the worst in Oregon when no one is looking

FC Portland Ecnl 1-7 random team from Minnesota

CU Ecnl 2-4 random team from Concorde

Legitimate cannon fodder for random good teams and many B teams at in the Ecnl.

Someone remember this the next time either of these propagandists decide to lie.

Imagine paying 1k for one trip to lose 7-1.....

Not much showcasing there either. But at least if no one finds out you can still claim you are good?

Please somebody explain ECNL? (Yes I know, Elite Club National League)

But really, what is the point?

1 of three leagues for youth soccer teams.

Was the best, was the worst, still not good enough.

All three leagues have a lot of teams that are better than anything from Oregon.

          Ok...

From reading a few posts here, tell me if I understand it correctly.

ECNL is the 3rd ranked league behind DA and something else.

ECNL is a scam so coaches can travel and feel important.

ECNL players were maybe premier TTL, maybe lower at big clubs who were told their daughter (usually its girls or it's all girls because girls have the craziest parents) has a chance to someday play for the USWNT if she got seen in ECNL.

          CU is PCU.

Say what you want about ECNL, but -

That "random team from Minnesota" was 15-1-4 this year with a GD of 52. They are quite legit.

The same FC 02 team tied the #2 ranked LA Slammers 2-2 today.

You may carry on your bashing now...

Hahahahaha 15-1-4 playing crappy Ecnl teams just like you.

#2 ranked??? Hahaha I wouldn’t use that ranking system to justify much simply because it would show how mediocre you are compared to others.

You don’t get credit for playing in a weak Ecnl league that 75% of the best are gone. Sorry, let everyone know when you actually beat someone worth while instead of citing b team weak Ecnl teams as your competition.

              No one is fooled.

La Slammers b team. Can’t even beat Pac nw Ecnl who everyone in the nw beats.

You Ecnl people are all propaganda with no facts.

Keep citing 7-1 losses as accomplishments and let us know what it feels like to be chicken feed for B teams.

Slammers split into two clubs, LAFC Slammers and Slammers. Split the talent and lost some good players to GDA.

So what are the DA people in PDX going to say next year when they are ECNL?

It's much better to play 'b' & 'c' teams and have it subsidized by the local pro club.

Having to pay fare full for that kind of travel is beyond asinine.

Crossfire Premiere parents disagree. DA was so bad they couldn’t give it away in Seattle; parents choose ECNL and they dropped DA. Same reason Thorns will be headed ECNL and you will be paying just the same as CU and FCP. I hope their are cameras in the room when they tell you all this information.

                          "Parents chose".

That's the difference between a true pro academy and a pay-to-play youth club. Right there.

At a true pro academy, parents are not customers and don't get to choose squat.

Unfortunately, the Thorns aren't running a true pro academy--as long as they are cashing checks from mom and dad, they have to put up with parental demands.

And the economics of the sport for women mean that girls' soccer might continue to be dominated by rich grrl tastes and desires; without a viable pro pathway it won't be anything more than a leisure activity for those not born with a silver spoon.

But you can bet your backside that the Timbers don't give a hoot about the opinions of parents, nor does any other serious pro academy.

And to be honest I doubt that Peregrine really cares that much about GDA vs ECNL.

Thorns DA going ECNL next year. Flat fee of 2k for everything.

Given that GDA is a flat fee of $2850--that just goes to show that one of the REAL reasons clubs prefer ECNL is that it's cheaper to run. You get to take high school season off, and no need to have trainers, camera operators, or PowerAde stations at the games.

Assuming this isn't the usual TS BS.
