Cant let this thread die. Equal representation for boys and girls is only fair. If you post on girls thread you must also post here.

How many FCIAC teams made it to the LL final 4 last year? That’s why no one cares.

It not a joke to the kids that aren't good enough to play in the OW, FSA, BC clubs. They want to play soccer, a high school sport. They want to be able to put it on a college app without wanting to play college soccer. Lighten up Fairfield County Dad.

F'off DA elitist. I'm sure your son will treasure spending weekends in the car playing in front of a dozen parents.

Um all FSA players play HS. ECNL gives them that choice. Plenty of other HS players also play high level club but don't want BDA, either because of the restrictions or they are multisport athletes. Neither BS or OW are anything special and the best DA players head west into NY, even up to Foxboro, or go ISL.

Yes the excitement of big hs crowds cheering with every big boot yelling "great ball" just because it went high and far.

Exactly. It is DA that is such a joke. If the USMNT suffers in the long term because boys play high school soccer instead of DA, I could care less. The USMNT is never going to be a realistic contender for even the semifinals of a WC anyway regardless. Having the experience of playing for the pride of your school and community is something no one can ever take away from you, and in the end it's simply more fun and memorable.

It's unfortunate that the overall quality of the FCIAC on the boys side has declined so much because of this. We will never again see a team even close to as talented as Staples was way back 10 years ago. I did get to see both Trumbull and Greenwich play Glastonbury LY and both looked good enough to have been semifinalists if they had been on the opposite side of the bracket.

Yes plenty of HS soccer blows, but certainly not all. But your statement represents what is wrong with DA - refusal to admit that playing HS sports matters to players. 99.99% of them will never go pro or sniff the national team. Over ten years of BDA with very little to show for it. BDA has managed to keep players because there really isn't a good 2nd option for boys (the girls have ECNL and look at how poorly GDA is going). Plus with fewer college programs and tremendous competition from international players you almost have to be in BDA to sniff a decent D1 roster. So go ahead and ban HS for a smaller group of the nation's top elite players. Let the rest decide on their own. With MLS clubs pushing for two tiers or possibly an exit entirely, the market may help make the decision for them. Why play the DA B league which is more similar to ECNL but with more restrictions?

Why so many comments for girls and none for boys? Are the boys teams run better?

Girl parents are psycho. Majority of parents know nothing about soccer, especially the dads
